Ipren suppositories are available over-the-counter for kids over 6 months old or weighing between 7-24 kg, and can be used for a maximum of 3 consecutive days. Ipren belongs to a group of medications known as NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

Please note, Ipren should not be given to children younger than 6 months or those weighing less than 7 kg. It’s best to stick to a maximum of 3 days of use. If you need to use it longer, always check in with a doctor first.

The normal dosage is 5 - 7.5 mg ibuprofen per kg of body weight. If needed, the dose can be repeated every 6 hours, up to 4 times a day, which equals 20-30 mg/kg per day as follows:

For kids weighing 7-15 kg, approximately ages 6 months to 3 years:
1 suppository 1-4 times a day. No more than 4 suppositories in a single day.

Always use body weight to calculate the dose (age is just a rough guide). The dose should be given every 6 hours, up to 4 times a day.
