Really regret the purchase!
Bought almost all the colors. I find them to be very dry once they’re on the skin, and they’re hard to blend nicely. It’s like trying to handle sticky chalk on the skin. They also sit very hard, which might be good if you manage to get them to sit nicely, but that’s not the case for me. Review for shades 60, 62, 63
I have now owned these eyeshadow pencils for a longer period and have also tested them multiple times to try to get them to work. Neither brushes, soft or a bit harder, nor fingers have gotten the products to blend out. It is as a previous review has written - a sticky crayon that sits like a rock in the ground before you even have time to pick up a brush/finger to blend the color nicely. I have also tried to "warm" the stick on the back of my hand, about like when you use foundation, and swirled the brush in the color then on the eyelid. All pigment stuck to both hand as well as the brush head. In other words, nothing I recommend - had trouble washing the eyeshadow off my hand… 😂 I have tried with and without primer, no difference in the result. In the picture, I have tried to work on a sort of smokey eye with three colors (as mentioned below) and unfortunately it didn’t go so well, as the products lifted each other or disappeared and yes… both patchy and very dry - despite moisturizing beforehand. 🥸 Incredibly sad as the colors 60 Bare Beige, 63 Cool Taupe, and 62 True Brown are incredibly beautiful and make you want to create a quick neutral smokey eye or a soft cut crease. 😩 Especially 63 Cool Taupe… I want soooooo badly to have that color on my eyelids. I bought two of these on sale but only received one in the package. I have filed a complaint about the purchase, but Lyko is not responding and I haven't received my item or my money back. Very easy to blend and creamy texture
Since I've seen so many reviews describing how dry and hard to blend the product is, I just want to share my neutral opinion on it. I find it has a very creamy texture that is also easy to blend. I really enjoy working with it on the eye and will buy more colors. Maybe it also depends on the preparation and one's own skin. Personally, I always pay attention to having enough moisture before using makeup and generally have very hydrated skin around the eye. So when I put primer on my eyelid, I can't apply this product at all because it doesn't hold. But without primer, it's ideal for me as described above. Completely impossible to blend
I am so disappointed - love the brand, love the idea, and love the color. I have two others from the same line in 'gleam' and 'shimmer' - love them. This one though? I can't for the life of me blend it on my eyelid. It leaves sharp lines and I turn completely red in the skin as I had to rub hard for it to look somewhat okay. Have 2 matte Apricot blush 61, True Brown 62. Packaging/stick bad
This was already exchanged once because the stick was missing the actual color tube, now, after one use, the dispensing mechanism broke. The product itself was also a bit disappointing when I tried to blend it with my finger, it crumbled quietly onto my cheeks. Worst packaging ever
The product broke before first use! It could be twisted out, making it longer but not twisted back in, making it shorter. So it broke because it just kept getting longer and longer. Even my friends who bought the same product (from other places than Lyko!) have had the same problem. Therefore, I believe it’s the packaging that’s at fault because you can’t construct a makeup product like that. I will never buy again! This eyeshadow pencil should be twistable, so if it doesn't work at all, there might unfortunately be something wrong with your specific item. 61 Apricot Blush
The positive: it really stays on after applying on oily monolids. The "neutral": the color wasn't right for me, but it is for someone else. The negative: it was hard to apply (for me at least) because it is dry and doesn't glide, so it gets quite uncomfortable to pull on the eyelid to get the product on. It is indeed a matte color, but it looks very dry on the eyelid.
