The company Mádara was founded in Latvia and has taken its name from the Mádara flower that grows wild in the Latvian fields. This is also where the story of Mádara takes shape, and this company has full focus on the environment when it comes to its products. This includes everything from deodorants, day and night creams, shampoos, conditioners to skin creams, where everything is organically produced. Mádara wants to combine a perfect result with an environmentally friendly way of thinking and they have really succeeded. The very basic idea is that the body comes from nature and recognizes the substances that Mádara uses and therefore absorbs them in a better way. This leads to a unique story about health, environmental consciousness and a perfect end result. Choosing Mádara is therefore very easy for you as a customer.
The anti-aging effect in this "Retinol Alternative" series is said to come from birch sap and the plant needlewort🌱 (Bidens Pilosa), which like bakuchiol is a good plant-based alternative to retinol for those of us who are not ideal retinol candidates😉
I am now on my third bottle of Latvian Mádara's organic retinol-repairing serum and I absolutely love both the creamy consistency that is a dream for my dry, thin, sensitive porcelain skin and the lightly sweet scent! Retinol takes ages before you see results, the same goes for the plant-based alternatives, so I think I will give this serum 6 months to really see the effect😊, but it feels immediately very moisturizing.
- My 55-year-old skin is unusually smooth and free from signs of aging, but a little is starting to creep in, as a result of not always having used sunscreen in my younger days😉 However, I have rarely sunbathed actively, never smoked, and have taken good care of my skin since I was 16, so the + lucky genes have probably contributed to the result! -
The serum is like a light cream and I use it mainly in the evening, before night cream and oil, but it works just as well to use during the day since it does NOT make the skin more sun-sensitive (which regular retinol does)! Since it is quite expensive, I have settled for evening use and apply it all over my face, on my neck and décolletage.
I have also just started using the eye serum in the same series, also in the evening, before a thicker eye cream. Super nice as well!
The series is supposed to suit all skin types, but I guess it is best for those of us with dry skin who completely soak up both moisture💦 and oil😀
Mádara is organic🌱 cruelty-free🐁🐇 and made in Latvia. They are also very socially engaged👍
Giving the serum 5 shining stars

An incredibly soothing face cream that sinks in nicely without any sticky surface that bothers. I find that my skin calms down immediately with the cream, and it looks good after use.
I've had it multiple times and think it holds up every time I use it. It has the typical Madara scent but nothing that lingers.
