Even if you have used 4% retinol for several years, the strengths cannot be directly compared. Crystal Retinal 20 is the strongest variant in the series, so start with 1-2 evenings per week on dry skin, use a small amount, and only increase when the skin feels comfortable. Hi! I've been using Dermaceutic 1% Retinol and also Tretinoin for a long time. So my skin is used to high strength. But if you feel a bit unsure, plus this is Retinal i.e. 11 times faster than Retinol, I would say number 10.
