The most important product in the bathroom cabinet

I literally use this for everything: Scalp scrub once a week; Removes product buildup, hair becomes shinier and less oily. Apply to the entire scalp, let it sit after a light massage for 10-15 minutes, and double cleanse with shampoo. For armpits and groin 2 times a week after showering; Removes bacteria that cause sweat odor. As needed every couple of weeks as a gentle scrub for the face like a toner; Helps especially with oily skin and small breakouts. After shaving (not on the same day, otherwise it stings); Removes and prevents ingrown hairs. Treatment for keratosis pilaris on the forearms; Apply to the skin of the forearms 1-2 times a week after showering, wait 15 minutes, and apply cream or oil on top. Foot scrub; 2-3 times a week after showering, apply to the soles of the feet. Let it sit for 15 minutes and apply foot cream and put on socks.

Nice to hear that the review was helpful! I always apply it to my skin through my hands, so I take about a tablespoon of toner in my hand and then just slather it on my forearms. It's good to let it dry and work for a moment before applying oil, and it shouldn't be washed off. As body oil, I use Weleda's rose oil, but any oil or cream works! For the groin area, I do the same, using a slightly smaller amount (teaspoon) on my hands and just applying it to the edge of my underwear. I don't use any other deodorants. This has especially been a convenient way to stay fresh during the summer. Let's really hope this product is never discontinued. 😆

    Hello,

The product name and photo don't match. It's showing the wrong picture. Both are sold as two different product by Ordinary brand. See the pictures attached. Misleading information shown by Lyko

    How often under the armpits?

I am new to the product and have sensitive skin. I used the product once under my armpits and did not have any allergic reaction. I have brown discoloration under my armpits from irritation that I want to get rid of ASAP. How often should I use it and how long does it take to see results?

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is an exfoliating toner with 7% glycolic acid that helps remove dead skin cells and make the skin smoother and clearer. It’s great if you feel your skin looks dull, uneven, or has some texture. After a few uses, the skin usually feels smoother and gains more radiance. Over time, it can also help even out skin tone and make pores less noticeable. The formula also contains soothing ingredients that reduce the risk of irritation, but it’s still an active acid – so it’s good to introduce it gradually. Avoid using it on sensitive or damaged skin. Since it makes the skin more sensitive to the sun, it’s important to use sunscreen during the day. I accidentally got it on a wound, and it stung a lot. This is an affordable product that many like because it actually makes a difference in skin texture and radiance without being complicated to use. #serum #review

    Question

Hi, I've heard that this can help with "Strawberry legs" and wonder if it really does? Also, I wonder how often one should use it and if it can be used right after shaving?

Hi Ella 😊 Yes, this can definitely help with “strawberry legs.” It contains glycolic acid (AHA) which exfoliates the skin and helps to dissolve dead skin cells and clogged pores, making the skin smoother and less spotty over time. Regarding how often you should use it, it’s good to start gently, about 2-3 times a week, and then increase as needed if your skin feels tolerant. In theory, it can be used daily, but many get the best results without irritation by not using it every day. Right after shaving, however, I wouldn’t recommend using it. The skin is often extra sensitive then, and the acid can sting or irritate. It’s best to wait at least 24 hours after shaving before applying it to avoid discomfort. Also, don’t forget to moisturize properly afterward and use SPF on exposed areas, as AHA can make the skin more sensitive to the sun ✨ Have a great day! 💌

    Question!

Is it common for the skin on the face to become red and spotty after use? I used the product once in the evening, and when I woke up, my face was red and there were small spots on my face that are barely visible but can be felt.

Hi Amina 😊 Yes, that can happen, and what you describe sounds like irritation. This is an AHA acid (glycolic acid) that exfoliates the skin quite effectively. When the skin is not used to acids or if the skin barrier is a bit sensitive at first, it can cause redness, stinging, and small bumps as a reaction. So it’s not uncommon, but it’s a sign that it was overstimulated that one time. Then it’s good to pause the product until the skin has completely calmed down and then reintroduce it much more carefully, for example once a week and always with good moisturizing afterward. If the skin continues to react like this even with careful use, it might be better to choose a milder acid, like PHA, which is usually gentler on sensitive skin. Right now, the most important thing is to let the skin recover and focus on soothing and rebuilding products. Have a nice day! 💌

    Retinol?

Is this a product similar to retinol? I am 20 years old and want to start using something that can counteract lines and wrinkles, mainly something that can be used on the chest and face since I feel that’s where my skin barrier takes the most damage! Is this a suitable product for that or should I look for a real retinol, and if so, can you recommend something within a reasonable budget?🕺🪩

Hi Hilda 😊 This product is not the same as retinol. Glycolic acid exfoliates the skin and gives a glow, but has limited effect on wrinkles. Retinol, on the other hand, works deeper in the skin and is better for preventing lines and strengthening the skin’s structure over time. If you mainly want to counteract lines, retinol is a better choice. Glycolic acid can be used as a complement for radiance, but be careful if your skin is sensitive. Here’s a tip for a good product with retinol, remember to introduce it slowly and be extra careful with sun protection during the day: lyko.com/sv/hudvard/ansikte/serum/the-inkey-list-starter-retinol-serum-30ml Wishing you a nice day! 💌 Also focus on hydration and SPF, that makes the biggest difference in the long run.

    Question

Can this help with the bumps on my arms? I’m not really sure how I got them, but I think it’s from Estrid’s razor when they changed the blade and I got bumps from that. However, it’s been almost 2 years. It feels like nothing helps☺️

Hi Maja 😊 Yes, glycolic acid can help your bumps on your arms, especially if it is keratosis pilaris or clogged hair follicles. But it requires regular use and sometimes needs to be combined with a moisturizing or urea-based cream for best results. Have a nice day! 💌

    Sweat smell

Hi! I've started to smell sweat from my armpits for a while now, not sure if it's because I'm currently losing weight. But of course, it's embarrassing. I thought I would try this product. But now to my question, if I use it in the evening, can I wash as usual the next morning and use deodorant? Could you possibly recommend a good deodorant that doesn't cost a fortune? //Frida

Hi again Frida! 😊 A good alternative is lyko.com/sv/cerave/cerave-sa-smooth-cleansing-237-ml- which can be used in the shower on the underarms a few times a week. It contains salicylic acid that helps break down sweat, bacteria, and buildup on the skin, which often contributes to odor 💫 Use it as a “short cleanse” in the shower, let it sit for a bit, and rinse off. Afterwards, you can continue with your usual shower routine and deodorant as normal 👍🏼🤗 Take care 🥰

Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner (previously Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution) is an exfoliator that significantly smoothes skin texture and promotes the appearance of a more even skin tone, as well as more luminous skin, with regular use. It also reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The water-based toner format is suited to daily use.

It contains a 7% concentration of Glycolic acid - a well-studied alpha-hydroxy acid - and a plant-derived Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, which varies in colour seasonally, and which may cause an apparent colour variation in the formula from time to time.

This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Please refer to the additional sun protection notes and other warnings in the provided directions.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa describes the acidity of a molecule. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximizing effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation.

Use:
Face/Neck Application: Apply once daily, ideally in the evening. Apply to the face and neck using a cotton pad or fingers.
Scalp Application: Apply to dry scalp, three times a week. Tilt your head back and use the nozzle to gently dispense product from the front to the back of the head in a sweeping motion. Massage well.
Do not rinse off. Do not use on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes.
Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.
If eye or skin irritation occurs, rinse thoroughly, cease use, and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Keep out of reach of children.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
