During his many expeditions to the Amazons, explorer Guy Long Floyd kept detailed notes of his observations. In these notes we can read: “As I painfully tumbled down the hill, I found myself next to a strange and pungent odor. The previous owner of this scent was a peculiar monkey perched in a tree above, eyeing me as I tended to my wounds with leaves. This monkey had a massive wing-like mustache and seemed to subsist on a diet of coconuts stuffed with eucalyptus and vanilla.” Sublevo was inspired by the diet these monkeys consume. Sublevo means rebellion in Spanish which is reminiscent of the species way of asserting dominance.
