The most important product in the bathroom cabinet

I literally use this for everything: Scalp scrub once a week; Removes product buildup, hair becomes shinier and less oily. Apply to the entire scalp, let it sit after a light massage for 10-15 minutes, and double cleanse with shampoo. For armpits and groin 2 times a week after showering; Removes bacteria that cause sweat odor. As needed every couple of weeks as a gentle scrub for the face like a toner; Helps especially with oily skin and small breakouts. After shaving (not on the same day, otherwise it stings); Removes and prevents ingrown hairs. Treatment for keratosis pilaris on the forearms; Apply to the skin of the forearms 1-2 times a week after showering, wait 15 minutes, and apply cream or oil on top. Foot scrub; 2-3 times a week after showering, apply to the soles of the feet. Let it sit for 15 minutes and apply foot cream and put on socks.

Nice to hear that the review was helpful! I always apply it to my skin through my hands, so I take about a tablespoon of toner in my hand and then just slather it on my forearms. It's good to let it dry and work for a moment before applying oil, and it shouldn't be washed off. As body oil, I use Weleda's rose oil, but any oil or cream works! For the groin area, I do the same, using a slightly smaller amount (teaspoon) on my hands and just applying it to the edge of my underwear. I don't use any other deodorants. This has especially been a convenient way to stay fresh during the summer. Let's really hope this product is never discontinued. 😆

    Hello,

The product name and photo don't match. It's showing the wrong picture. Both are sold as two different product by Ordinary brand. See the pictures attached. Misleading information shown by Lyko

    The ordinary

Hi! I have dark spots on my legs and I'm wondering if they will go away if I use this product on my legs?

Hey Ellen 👋😊 The product can help by exfoliating the skin and improving cell renewal, which can reduce the visibility of the spots over time. Use it on dry legs with a cotton pad a few times a week (not right after shaving). Moisturize with a fragrance-free and soothing lotion afterwards. And don’t forget SPF if you expose your legs to the sun! ☀️ Good luck 🤍

Hi Janine! This product is not suitable for sensitive skin, so if you have that, I would advise against it. ☺ If you don’t have sensitive skin, it depends on what you use most in your skincare routine (for example, moisturizing and nourishing products like a hydrating serum, oil, cream, and UV protection). If you use these products, this is ideal as an evening peel, one or multiple evenings a week. 🤗 You can use this after cleansing the skin, on dry skin, before applying other moisturizing products. Feel free to send an email to customerservice@lyko.com if you have more questions! 💌

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner 240 ml

Hey, I saw on TikTok that if you have a bit of dark underarms and use it under your arm, it can help. Do you think this works for dark underarms?

    Translated from norwegian

    • Hi there 🥰 Yes, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner can potentially help with darker areas on the skin, such as underarms. Glycolic acid works as an exfoliant and can help remove dead skin cells, which can make the skin smoother and brighter over time. But be aware that the skin under the arms is thin and sensitive, so it's wise to test the product on a small area first to see how the skin reacts🌺 Also remember that it can take some time before you see results, and it's important to use sun protection on areas that have been treated with exfoliating products, as the skin can become more susceptible to sun damage☀️ If you're unsure, it might be a good idea to consult a dermatologist before you start. 😊 Hope this helps, and good luck! ✨

Doesn't work for my hair or body

Bought it to use on my scalp to reduce my oily hair, but I notice no difference. I've also used it on my body to try to get rid of my spots, but I don't notice any difference there either.

    Combine with salicylic acid

Hi, I'm considering buying salicylic acid from the same brand. Can they be combined since they are recommended to be used in the evening.

Hey Sofia! Of course you can use both salicylic acid and glycolic acid, but it's best to alternate between them and use them on different days to pamper your skin without stressing it! Remember to moisturize properly and use sunscreen during the day, your skin will thank you with a lovely glow! Take care!

Description
Ingredients

Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner (previously Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution) is an exfoliator that significantly smoothes skin texture and promotes the appearance of a more even skin tone, as well as more luminous skin, with regular use. It also reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The water-based toner format is suited to daily use.

It contains a 7% concentration of Glycolic acid - a well-studied alpha-hydroxy acid - and a plant-derived Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, which varies in colour seasonally, and which may cause an apparent colour variation in the formula from time to time.

This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Please refer to the additional sun protection notes and other warnings in the provided directions.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa describes the acidity of a molecule. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximizing effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation.

Use:
Face/Neck Application: Apply once daily, ideally in the evening. Apply to the face and neck using a cotton pad or fingers.
Scalp Application: Apply to dry scalp, three times a week. Tilt your head back and use the nozzle to gently dispense product from the front to the back of the head in a sweeping motion. Massage well.
Do not rinse off. Do not use on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes.
Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.
If eye or skin irritation occurs, rinse thoroughly, cease use, and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Keep out of reach of children.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
