I have been using retinol for 2-3 years and have just ramped up to retinal 0.05%.
I have never had irritation or problems during use.
When can I ramp up to 0.1 and 0.2?

Hi Åsa😊
If you have been using retinol regularly for 2-3 years and just stepped up to 0.05% retinal without irritation, that’s a good sign. Since retinal is stronger than retinol, it’s wise to give your skin time to adjust. To step up to 0.1%, I recommend continuing with 0.05% for about 4-8 weeks. First, increase the frequency of use, for example from 2-3 nights a week to every other night. If your skin continues to do well, you can then move on to 0.1%.
When you reach 0.1%, you can use it for another 8-12 weeks before considering testing 0.2%. Remember to increase the number of nights first and gradually raise the strength to minimize the risk of irritation. Always remember to use sunscreen during the day and give your skin time to recover between increases.
Hope the answer can be helpful and that you have a super nice day💫
