This type of technology works by directing light pulses at the hair follicles, where the light is converted into heat and gradually breaks down the hair follicles to inhibit future hair growth.
The technology is most effective when there is a clear contrast between skin and hair, i.e., dark hair strands on light skin. Light, gray, or red hair strands contain little to no melanin (pigment), which makes it difficult for the light to be absorbed sufficiently. Therefore, IPL unfortunately does not work as well for these hair types! ❤
So this applies to the technology itself and not just this specific product, and therefore it is recommended to use another hair removal method if you have very blonde, gray, or red hair strands.
