Hi Hanna 😊
Yes, these can feel very similar, and that’s because they basically do the same thing. But there are some important differences in how they are formulated and how they feel on the skin. CeraVe Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum is more “barrier-focused.” It contains hyaluronic acid but also ceramides and often more soothing, reparative ingredients that help the skin barrier retain moisture over time. This makes it often feel a bit more “creamy” and nourishing, especially for sensitive or dry skin. While The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is more minimalist and focused on hydration itself with several types of hyaluronic acid + panthenol (B5). It is usually lighter in feel and more of a “gel-serum” texture but lacks the extra barrier lipids like ceramides.
Have a great day! 💌
