Hi,
I have tried The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. I have used it every evening for a few weeks and my skin has not reacted negatively. Can I try this strength now? I would also like to add vitamin C and peptides, how do I combine these with retinol?
Thanks!

Hi Emelie 😊
Yes, you can definitely try this now that your skin has tolerated Granactive Retinoid 2% for a few weeks. However, it is a clear step up in strength, so it’s better to introduce it gently instead of starting to use it every night right away. Start with 2 nights a week and gradually increase if your skin feels stable. Even if your skin hasn’t reacted so far, stronger retinol can sometimes cause a delayed reaction when increasing the strength.
When it comes to vitamin C and peptides, they work well together with retinol, but it’s best to separate them in your routine. Vitamin C is preferably used in the morning because it works protectively and gives extra effect together with sunscreen. You can use peptides both morning and evening, and they are gentle enough to work well with other active ingredients. A simple routine is therefore to use vitamin C in the morning followed by moisturizer and SPF. In the evening, use retinol on the nights you do active treatment, and peptides plus moisturizer on the other nights.
Have a great day! 🌼
