I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Banila Co. since I love that cleansing balm but find it a bit expensive in the long run, and instead found Topz's variant. Much kinder to the wallet and nice reviews – but I was really SO disappointed. The balm is oily when you work it into the skin, but then it doesn't transform into that milky film that Banila Co's or Indy Beauty's cleansing balm does when you work in water, and that's why it's so hard to remove. I double cleanse my skin regardless, but it doesn't feel clean after I've used Topz balm (plus it feels like the drain is going to get clogged if I keep using it). The sum of the matter: some things are worth their slightly higher price tag, like Banila Co. Unfortunately, I won't be buying Topz again😫
Update:
I have to change my rating from 2 to 1, because OMG. I had about half of my jar left in the shower and thought I would try it again after a day with pretty heavy foundation – how bad could it be, right? After I rubbed the balm into my face, I got the same feeling as Ross in Friends when he’s trying to take off his leather pants and realizes that "the powder and lotion has made a PASTE" (you know, you know)😂None of my makeup came off. Instead, it just got moved around my face along with the balm and left a film that took three other rounds of face cleansing to get off (yikes). It’s such a shame because the cleansing balm is available to buy at Willys while grocery shopping, but now I wouldn’t even touch this product with a ten-foot pole. Why, Topz, why🥲

Hey Maria! 🥰
Thanks for the detailed review, and what a shame that this didn't become a new favorite!
If you want to give it one last chance, you can try massaging it longer on dry skin and then adding a little water in stages, or use a damp microfiber cloth before rinsing. Otherwise, it seems lucky that you have another favorite, albeit a bit more expensive, to fall back on ✨
Have a nice day 🌷
