    Day cream is crumbling..

Hi! I bought this day cream a little while ago and I use it in combination with Niactil and Elixir's Retinext Daily Anti-Aging Face Gel. I let it absorb well before I start with makeup. But when I apply foundation, my whole face crumbles, as if the day cream is crumbling, so I end up with crumbling product all over my face, which is not good. This doesn't happen with other creams.. And it's also quite expensive. Is the product old or expired or something? Can I use Elixir's Retinext at night instead of Este Lauder's night serum during the day?

Hey Renate 💌 When a day cream crumbles under foundation, it’s usually because the products don’t work well together, or the cream’s texture isn’t optimal for your skin type/makeup routine. It’s not common for a new, unused day cream to be expired unless it has been opened for a very long time or stored incorrectly. This can happen if: ✔ The cream isn’t fully absorbed before makeup is applied ✔ "Layers" form that don’t bind together (moisture + oil + silicone + color) ✔ The combination of ingredients forms a "layer" that doesn’t lay evenly ✨ Let the day cream sit longer before makeup, e.g. 10–15 min ✨ Use a thin layer of primer before foundation ✨ Test the foundation without the day cream — does it do the same? ✨ Switch to a more "makeup-friendly" day cream without heavy textures/silicones Have a lovely day ahead!
