Mats down and evens out skin tone 💫
Really lovely face cream! 🩵 It mattes without drying out, instead it provides hydration. Which makes it perfect for warm summer days when you want to counteract shine and avoid the skin looking "greasy" 🥰 The product has a thinner gel consistency. Upon application, it can initially feel a bit sticky on the skin but then quickly absorbs and doesn’t feel sticky at all ✨ I have dry skin and usually go for a dewy look, but I’ve realized how much I like this for days when you sweat a lot. This is because it really balances sebum production. I also find that it reduces my redness and evens out my skin tone 😄 It is lightly fragranced but I find it barely noticeable. I’m usually not a big fan of fragranced skincare but tolerate this without any problems. Less shine, same moisture!🩵
Lately, I've been more drawn to products that give a lot of glow and radiance, so I was a bit unsure about what I would think of this one. But I was actually pleasantly surprised. The cream has a light and pleasant texture that absorbs quickly without feeling heavy on the skin. It moisturizes well while helping to keep the skin more balanced throughout the day. I especially noticed a difference in my T-zone, which stayed less shiny than usual. Even though the finish is matte, the skin doesn't feel dry or tight, which I sometimes experience with mattifying products. It also works very well under makeup and provides an even base. As someone who prefers a more glowing look, I will probably still choose radiance-giving creams for everyday use. But on warm days, or when I want my makeup to stay fresh longer, I think this is a really good alternative. Light gel cream with matte finish
Erborian Matte Moisturizer has a light gel consistency that glides nicely on the skin and gives a clearly matte finish. It feels more like a light day cream for skin types that don’t need much hydration, or for those who tend to get shiny during the day. For my dry skin, unfortunately, it is not moisturizing enough for me to use it as a sole cream. I can imagine it might work better on warm summer days, possibly together with a more hydrating sunscreen on top. It is lightly fragranced, which is good to know if you are sensitive to scent in skincare. I think it suits best normal, combination, or oilier skin that wants a light feel and a matte finish, rather than lots of moisture and nourishment. Matte? yes absolutely🫡
The packaging is simple, cute color combo of blue and green. Like the applicator – feels like I have control over how much I take out. Curious how it will be towards the end when there’s little product left. But most of all, I really liked how the matte version has a matte packaging while the glow has a glowing packaging. I like when it’s obvious that there’s thought behind the product design🙌🏼 Otherwise, they look exactly the same! Tried both the glow and matte versions. Matte has a consistency that reminds me a bit of a primer (see picture). It makes the skin matte. Feels moisturizing even though it gives a more matte appearance. I have combination skin (normal with oily T-zone) and sensitive skin. Got no bad reaction on the skin, so happy about that. Combined with Urban Decay matte setting spray, the skin stays very matte. BUT gave me dry patches around the nose and chin😭 But it should be said that with regular setting spray – it worked a bit better, but still not as desired. Also tried and combined different combos to find the best. Still unsure which combo I think worked best so I have to keep testing a bit. But definitely a trial and error before you find what works best for your skin. I will continue to test different combinations with setting spray, maybe with another serum etc. to still be able to use the product. Many pluses. But unfortunately no new favorite. Simple and light
After using the Erborian Hydration Range Matte Moisturizer for a while, I have a very good impression of the product. What mainly made me appreciate it is how it helps keep the skin less shiny throughout the day without feeling drying. Very good mattifying effect
I got to try this product from Erborian thanks to #lykoinflutester ✨ I was very curious about this because I had previously tried the Glow Moisturizer from the same line. However, I have quite dry skin and almost always tend to go for products that give a lot of glow, so a mattifying day cream is actually a bit outside my comfort zone. The first thing I noticed was the texture. The cream is light, almost gel-like, and feels very pleasant on the skin. It absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy or heavy feeling behind. What impressed me the most was actually the matte effect. I have tried many products that claim to mattify the skin without succeeding very well, but here I actually noticed a difference immediately. The skin looked smoother and stayed significantly less shiny throughout the day. However, I feel that the product is not quite suited for my skin type. Since I have dry skin, I felt that the hydration was not enough. The skin did not feel uncomfortable, but I missed that hydrated and plumped feeling that I personally like. Advantages: + Very good mattifying effect + Light and pleasant texture + Absorbs quickly into the skin + Evens out the skin's appearance nicely Disadvantages: - Not moisturizing enough for my dry skin - Lacks the glowing finish I personally prefer - Probably better suited for normal to oily skin? In summary, I think this is a good product that does what it promises. If you have oily or combination skin and want to reduce shine during the day, I definitely think this is worth trying. For me, who loves glow and has dry skin, the Glow Moisturizer wins between the two. Good for oily skin
I think this is very good for oily skin – which I don’t have. I found that it absorbed well into the skin and moisturized, but not according to my needs. I have normal-combination skin and I’m 45 years old. I don’t need matte skin and I need lots of moisture and other goodies to satisfy my face. I liked the texture a lot and thought it felt a bit cooling. The skin felt soft after application and leaves the skin prepped for makeup. I have been testing various products from Erborian for a while, a brand that was completely unknown to me before. I am 36 years old and my skin is normal to a bit dry now around summer ☀️ Unfortunately, this product did not suit me. I found it easy to apply and it absorbed quickly into the skin. Even though it was supposed to give a matte effect, I experienced it more as luminous ✨ Since I don't have oily skin myself, I tested it on my boyfriend who has an oily forehead. Good for oily skin
I've been using it for a couple of weeks and really enjoying this moisturizer. When I first apply it, it feels a little sticky, but that sensation disappears surprisingly quickly as it absorbs into the skin. Matte Moisturizer
The cream has a pleasant scent and a velvety soft texture that spreads easily and evenly on the skin. The lightweight texture feels comfortable to use and does not leave a heavy feeling. However, it does not leave the skin completely matte, as the name might suggest. For my dry skin, the moisturizing effect was not sufficient, and the skin felt a bit dry after use.
