As a person with FA (fungal acne), I have had to search for weeks for a conditioner that is safe to use (because the product I used to use regularly, from Aussie, has changed their formulation to something unsafe for FA).
The ingredients in mjuuks Colour + Moisture Conditioner are FA-safe according to SkinSort and Folliculitisscout, so it is safe to use for us with FA/Malassezia. So far, I have not experienced anything negative with my skin and scalp while using this product, so I can support the information from these websites both this time and from previous experiences.
From experience, the FA-safe conditioners I have used before have been very thin and do not condition the hair well. BUT mjuuks Colour + Moisture Conditioner is the opposite! It is thicker, adheres better without making the hair heavy and greasy. It is also economical in use, so you do not need to use large amounts per use. It will therefore work more conditioning, especially compared to thinner FA-safe conditioners that do not adhere and are quickly washed away in the shower. I also have colored hair that is very weak and thin, but also amounts of uncolored hair. The instructions say to apply the product to towel-dried hair, but I have used the product on wet hair in the shower after shampoo.
I would have given the product 5 stars if it weren't for the smell/fragrance. The smell is very strong. It reminds me of a mix of Head & Shoulders shampoo and Lano hand and shower soap, which gives me a headache every time I use the conditioner. I hope mjuuk can change the scent to something better! I still recommend the product :)
I also really hope that mjuuk does not change the formulation of this product (except for the fragrance) to something not FA-safe, as this product works well as a conditioner and is not too expensive.
This review focuses a lot on FA-safe products because there are so FEW products on the US market that meet these criteria, which makes me very frustrated. That I finally found this product has made me so happy and relieved that I do not have to switch to something else that could potentially ruin my skin again.
Thank you to mjuuk and Lyko for managing to have a product without all these unnecessary/unsafe ingredients that 95% (personal experience) of other products on the market have! :) It is truly a rarity. However, this conditioner is the only FA-safe one among mjuuk's conditioners (March 2025), so be careful with this if you have the same skin issues as me.
