STORY
A Quick History of Olaplex
Once upon a time there were two leading researchers of materials and chemistry, who never before had worked with hair, and never even had thought of working with hair. Their names are Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker. They “accidently” invented the Olaplex molecule – IN A GARAGE! A brand-new molecule that alone protects and recreates disulfide bonds in the hair structure. Completely unique is also that the new connecting disulfide bonds become stronger than in the original state, leading to better hair quality. The molecule is called Bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate and is so unique that it has a whopping eight different patents protecting it from copycats! Today, Olaplex is world-renowned and used by hundreds of thousands of hair salons in many countries. There are many similar products on the market, but none connect disulfide bonds in the unique Olaplex way. And then, the beauty enthusiast friend Dean Christal founded the company Olaplex and the rest is, as you say, history.
