Since Yvo's 6th birthday, he realized he had a gift for scent. When he turned 18, he was asked to become the "nose" for the fragrance company IFF and was offered a job in New York City. Instead, he chose to study at the conservatory in Florence, Italy. He later became a journalist with a focus on the world of fragrances.
After his career as a journalist, during which he traveled the world over 36 times, he had an unfulfilled dream: instead of writing about perfumes, he wanted to create his own.
Renowned perfumers, including Jean-Claude Ellena (Hermès) and François Demachy (Dior and Acqua di Parma), encouraged Yvo to create his own fragrance house. Inspired by them, Yvo's first creation was born; YVRA 1958 l'Essence de l'Essence.
