A young classic
This gem has been my favorite perfume since it was released in 2019, and I have truly been obsessed with it. Rarely do I buy the same perfume multiple times, but this one is an exception. I must honestly say that I have gotten a bit tired of it over the past year, but it’s still very fun to get this assignment as #lykoinflutester since I will try to pinpoint what it is about this that got me so hooked: Besides the fact that I am sold on the bottle itself, which I think is a luxurious and sexy piece of art in itself, I have loved the scent as I said. Libre is a wearable perfume that I think works for both day and night, all seasons, a perfect all-round perfume. However, I would say it is most optimal for the evening, as it can be a bit strong for scent-sensitive colleagues at the office. I find that the scent becomes even nicer after a couple of hours on the body as the vanilla becomes more prominent and the lavender scent tones down. (Strangely enough, I have liked this so much since I am not a big fan of lavender). I perceive this perfume as feminine and safe, but lately, I feel it lacks that little extra something. Maybe because I have "overused" it or maybe because it has become a bit too popular, so it has lost its magic for me. (Only because of this does it not get a full score) Anyway, it IS a very nice perfume that has given me many compliments, both from men and women, and it is also a perfume with long-lasting power! I would say it easily lasts about 8 hours if not more, which I think is really good! Luxurious, but not for me.
So, if I got happy & excited when I received YSL’s Libre as an influencer assignment?! At the same time, I suspected that this might not really be my scent. Since Nina and I talked about this, as she has had it as a favorite, but described it as a scent that is not “for me”. And yes, my suspicions were confirmed. Reviewing scents is what I find the hardest. But I will do my best. YSL’s Libre is described as a scent for the strong and brave woman. And I think that’s a perfect description for who the scent suits. Libre is a super-feminine scent. It is luxurious & sophisticated. The bottle feels luxurious, and YSL is probably associated with luxury by most. According to the description, the first scent notes should be lavender and orange blossom. Then it describes, among others, mandarin oil, Arabian jasmine, vanilla extract, and musk. My own experience of Libre is that I only smell orange blossom. 🤔 And unfortunately… Libre is way too heavy for me. And no, it’s not super heavy. There are many heavier scents. But I felt already at the first use that it was too heavy for me. It’s of course a matter of taste what one likes and feels comfortable in. But if you like, like me, light floral scents, and occasionally a bit sweet scents (like Dolce & Gabbana’s devotion), then Libre is not the right scent. However, I have to give Libre that it has a really good longevity on the skin. An EDP lasts longer than an EDT. But Libre has extra long (good?) longevity, I think. Pretty okay scent, but heavy
I received this as #lykoinflutester and have used it a couple of days here and there to form an opinion. The first impression is good, as the bottle is absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately the scent itself doesn't hit particularly well with me. My scent favorites are Memo Paris's Lalibela Oud, Diptique's Fleur de Peau, Versace’s Dylan Purple Pour Femme, and Zadig & Voltaires This is her. The only similarity this perfume has to these is that it contains musk, but that is not what stands out in this perfume. I think it smells a bit fruity - it contains orange blossom, so I assume that's what I'm sensing. It also has a soapy note, probably from lavender. I would absolutely not say that the perfume is bad, it is good and I know that it is many people's absolute go-to perfume, but for me the notes were off, and it is quite strong/intense. I also struggle a bit with migraines and this triggers me throughout the day. Convinced and new favorite!
I, as #lykoinflutester, have been so lucky to receive #ysl's amazing Libre perfume to test 🌸 First, I must say that personally, I am quite picky when it comes to scents and can like a mix of sweeter and more feminine fragrances, but also more pronounced ones. And this perfume delivers all of that! 🤩 I am the person who absolutely does not like the scent of lavender and always steers clear of it, but here YSL has really nailed it and has now convinced me that lavender is something everyone can like 🪻 An extra plus is that this perfume actually lasts without being too much. And we must not forget the incredibly beautiful and luxurious design they have done on the bottle, this is a bottle that is also just as nice to have on display and decorates 🖤 I would absolutely recommend this perfume, even to those who are a bit skeptical. I was about to faint from happiness when I picked up the package from the post office and saw that I had received this for testing #lykoinflutester 🤍 I love #YSL perfumes!!! My previous bottle is completely empty, there are still a few sprays left that I have been saving diligently, so this was perfect timing 🥹 I have received the most compliments about this scent and I am absolutely convinced, if you are considering buying this scent, then it's a big recommendation 💋 The bottle is extremely beautiful, I love the golden details! Feminine Sensuality in a Bottle
I have always loved #ysl Libre EdP Intense and it is my go-to perfume when I want to smell good and sensual. But now that I, as #lykoinflutester, got to test Libre Eau Parfum, I fell just as in love with this scent. The perfume smells of lavender and orange blossoms. It is not too strong and sits comfortably on the skin. I also love how the perfume has notes of musk and vanilla. I have used the perfume several times and received many compliments from both my partner and colleagues. I didn't think the perfume would be as strong as Libre EdP intense, but I was pleasantly surprised! The bottle is simply among the prettiest I have ever seen. It’s enough to spray once to get enough perfume that lasts long. I highly recommend this perfume if you want to feel sensual and feminine during the day but don’t want to wear a too strong scent. Wonderful scent!
I've been able to test this perfume for a few weeks now, and I am so incredibly positively surprised! Usually, my favorite perfume is Si by Giorgio Armani. Now that I've tried this perfume, I must say that I've found a new favorite. It smells fresh, luxurious, and grown-up. The bottle is super pretty, and the perfume is long-lasting; you only need one spray to smell good. The spray function works well, creating a fine and delicate spray cloud upon application. BUT if you can't handle strong perfumes, this one is probably not for you. It has a quite intense scent that I can imagine would be bothersome for those who are sensitive to strong fragrances. I have had the honor of testing this incredible perfume from YSL for a few weeks, and I have absolutely found a new favorite! When it comes to me and my taste in perfumes, I prefer a bit spicier scents. I like a fragrance that makes me feel strong and edgy, and I think this scent does that! First and foremost, I think the bottle is absolutely incredible. It is so sleek and beautiful, and it really feels luxurious. The spray is also really good and gives a nice mist. When it comes to the scent, they describe it themselves as bold and empowering (I absolutely agree!) and the prominent notes are lavender, orange blossom, and musk. I’m not great at describing scents myself, but if I had to put my own words to it, I think it is both sweet and spicy at the same time. You can feel the floral scent, but it is really bold and has a bit of a kick (in a good way!). It feels both feminine and strong. I think this perfume is suitable for many occasions and all seasons, but I mostly use it as an evening scent, where I really think it shines. Once you’ve put on the perfume, it sticks like glue! You can smell the fragrance long after application, and you don’t need to reapply. That’s a big plus! I’ve received so many compliments when I’ve worn this. So a final result: incredible perfume!
