Brutally honest review: The only Diesel I willingly wear ⛽
For the first time ever, I have been chosen to be a #lykotestpilot, and I feel honored by this assignment since I love perfumes and actually own quite a few by now. 😍 When I first heard I was going to test Diesel Only The Brave EdP, I thought: "Oh, Diesel. Then I guess it’s just time to book a service appointment." 🔧 But no.. This is not the diesel that makes the car go forward. This is diesel that makes YOU move forward with a confidence you don’t really have. And I have to say.. I get the name "Only The Brave." ⛽ The scent starts quite fresh with mandarin and lemon, giving that feeling of: "I’ve showered, I have my life together, and I pay my bills on time." Then coriander comes in and makes it a bit spicier and herbaceous. It becomes more like: "Maybe I don’t have my life together, but I have very strong opinions about which olive oil to use." After that, lavender and clary sage make the scent more aromatic and soft. It was around here I started walking around at home like I had a soundtrack. I opened the fridge with confidence. I closed a kitchen drawer with authority. I took out the trash like I was heading to an important board meeting. And the perfume hadn’t even fully settled yet. Because when it lands on the skin, the mocha comes out, and that’s where things happen. It gets warmer, softer, and has a slightly leathery feel. Then the gourmand sweetness arrives, and it’s almost like a leather jacket went on a date with a patisserie. And I’m not saying it should work.. but it does. What I like about it is that it doesn’t try to be some damn flower meadow or three citrus fruits in a spa. It has citrus, spice, herbs, lavender, mocha, and sweetness, and Diesel actually pulls it together into a scent that feels warm, masculine, and confident. For me, it’s primarily an evening scent, for dinner, dates, parties, or when you just need to go to the store to buy charcoal but suddenly feel ready to marinate the meat, light the grill, and take responsibility for the whole neighborhood’s dinner. 🔥 My critique is really two things. First: spray sparingly, because this one is pretty strong. The first time I thought, "I’ll take a few extra, just to be safe." That was a mistake. You don’t need to bathe in it. For me, two to three sprays are more than enough. You really don’t need to establish a new ecosystem. The second thing is that at times it gets a bit too masculine for my personal taste. It has more of a "men’s locker room after a gym session" vibe than what I usually look for in a perfume. And it’s absolutely not because it smells bad, quite the opposite. It’s just not the kind of masculinity I want to wear myself. I’d rather smell like someone who’s worked out.. not the person who owns the gym. 😂 My rating is 4 out of 5. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A nice scent to have in your repertoire and bring out when the occasion calls for a little extra confidence. Luxurious, but not a 100% match…
I already had an absolute favorite when it comes to summer perfumes. It’s called Monoi and is from a French company that has been doing mail order sales for a long time. Long before the internet existed. 😅 We can call the company Y.R., because maybe we shouldn’t name-drop other companies on Lyko’s platform? 🙈😅 Anyway, I loved that perfume. But I didn’t think it had long-lasting power on the skin. It was also an edt, so that’s not so surprising. I googled and had a conversation with Google’s AI. And it was the tiare flower that made it smell so fantastic. And I found, among other things, this one from DKNY, which could be an alternative. ☺️ I can say there was a big discount when I bought it about 4 weeks ago. I think I paid 1178 SEK for it, and then it wasn’t a hard decision whether to buy it or not. RRP 1800 SEK for 100 ml isn’t completely extreme for a high-end perfume. But the sum of money is much bigger than 1178 SEK, so I thought it over once, twice, and three times. And of course, much better to buy with a discount if there is one. ☺️ So, the packaging! HOW luxurious? And the bottle! Luxury, luxury, luxury! The bottle is incredibly beautiful! 🤩 Properly heavy (considering how thick the bottom is), and it "fits well" in the hand. The cap is magnetic. Which I have never experienced before. So to the scent. ☺️ Yes, it’s a nice and luxurious scent. You can tell it’s an EDP. The longevity on the skin is much longer. I don’t really think it’s a bad scent, but there’s something about it that makes me think it’s heavy. I googled (of course 😅). And Google said: the reason for this is that it has a base of cashmere wood, amber, and vetiver. Which gives a warm, deep, almost spicy feeling. Which is different from monoi, which is pure, sunny, and airy. Anyway. It’s not a bad scent. It was just a little too heavy for me, who prefers lighter scents. Smells much better than other pistachio scents!
This body mist from #daar really surprised me! 💜 I usually don't like pistachio scents, especially not after I tried Cleans which made me feel incredibly sick. 🙈 I only tested this in-store and think the scent lasted more than 1.5 hours at least, which I think is good for a body mist! 🤭 Nice hints of vanilla that you notice right away! Actually, I prefer more floral/fresh scents and think this gets a bit too "heavy" after a while – but it smells much better than many other pistachio scents and therefore still gets a high rating. As a Lyko influencer tester, I have had the chance to try Her Parfum 50 ml from Burberry over the past few weeks 👃 🍒 ❄️ My first impression of the perfume is that it smells very feminine, nice, and soft! I think it’s a bit fruity but also a bit floral, with a lot of vanilla coming through! I read before receiving the perfume that it was supposed to smell like cherry, which is my favorite scent. I can sense a little cherry in the fragrance but much more vanilla (which usually isn’t a favorite of mine), but the blend is really nice, I must say! 😍 Playful, warm, yet still a soft elegant blend is how I would describe the scent. It’s feminine but not “old-fashioned” and smells really good. The scent also lasts very well! I like the perfume and will use every single drop, hopefully it will become another favorite in my growing collection. A feminine and fruity scent
As a Lyko influencer tester, I have had the chance to try La Bomba Eau de Parfum 50 ml from Carolina Herrera over the past few weeks. My first impression of the perfume was that it was very beautiful. Feminine, playful, and it caught my interest right away. After reading about the scent, I already felt I would like it, and I did. 💁♀️ A feminine and wonderful scent that is both elegant and playful, as it contains (in my opinion) both fruity and slightly floral notes.
