Gets the job done - but I need more moisture!
For the past two weeks, I have had the exciting task of testing and evaluating the #lykotestpilot ultra facial cleanser as #kiehls. 🧴 A little about me and my skin: 🖤 Oily, sensitive skin type with dryness that comes and goes. I easily get barrier damage, especially during the winter. 🖤 Despite the dryness that can become quite noticeable, my face needs a little wash in the morning to get rid of some excess oil. My first observations: 🧴 Perfect travel size! 🌟 Almost a little “liquid pearl” look to the product. Nice! Pros: 💐 Fragrance-free! No unnecessary fragrance ingredients that sting and irritate my skin. Yippie! 🫧 Lathers nicely and I felt very clean after cleansing. 🧽 Effectively removed the remnants of my cleansing balm without having to rub at all. Appreciated! Cons: ➖ Yes, I felt very clean after cleansing as previously mentioned, but after a minute when I patted my face dry, the tightness and dryness came like a letter in the mail. Additionally, I noticed that I became a little redder around the nostrils, cheekbones, and chin just after washing compared to my usual cleanser. Ouch. I suspect that I am simply a bit too dry now in the winter for this cleanser. ➖ Not quite as economical as I had hoped, I had to use between the amount shown in the picture and double that to feel that I could comfortably cleanse my whole face and still have product to work with properly. When it comes to cleansers, I appreciate economical and affordable products a little extra. The bottom line: A cleanser that definitely gets the job done and will be a product I return to a little later in the year when the air isn’t as dry and cold to see if the dryness after use occurs then as well. Anyway, a simple product that does exactly what it promises: cleanses. For 5 out of 5 points, I would have wished that the product was partly more economical, partly more moisturizing. Therefore, my rating is 3 out of 5. 🧼1 product in post Gets the job done - but I need more moisture!87 views - The post was made 2 weeksRating: 4 out of 5
Uncomplicated and frill-free everyday cream
Over the course of two weeks, I have had the exciting task of testing and evaluating #lykotestpilot iconic ultra facial cream as #kiehls. 💫 A bit about me and my skin: 🖤 Oily, sensitive skin type. 🖤 Easily becomes dry and often develops barrier damage. 🖤 Very selective with facial creams due to stubborn skin that strongly dislikes perfumes and other fragrance ingredients. My first observations: 🫙 Perfect travel size for the packaging! It even got to hang out in my jacket pocket for a couple of days as an emergency moisture boost when needed. 👀 At first glance into the jar, I got the impression that it looked like a gel cream. 'Uh-oh' I thought, as I need a lot of moisture and fat now in the winter. Pros: 💐 Fragrance-free! Also, in my opinion, lacks any scent. Double points! ☁️ My eyes deceived me - it was not at all a gel cream as I thought it was. The consistency is neither light and airy nor heavy and greasy, it lands somewhere in the perfect middle ground. 💧 The cream feels really moisturizing right upon application. It sinks quickly into the skin, and I feel almost a little soft on my cheeks after application. 💄 Really good base under makeup - neither too light nor too heavy. I have long searched for a day cream that is on one hand sufficiently moisturizing to keep the “normally dry” areas in check throughout the day, that is not so greasy that the makeup slips and never sinks in, but also not so light that my oily skin overcompensates for the dryness with more oil. Well - here I have found that day cream, yay! Cons: ➖ When during the testing period really dry, flaky, barrier-damaged areas appeared on and around my nose, this product did not quite suffice. The dry areas “drank up” the cream very quickly upon application, but did not feel like the moisture was really enough. The areas still felt quite dry and therefore I had to supplement a bit with another product. Since other “normal” dry areas (like between the eyebrows) did well with this cream, I had almost expected (and hoped) that it would also handle real winter skin, but there it did not quite live up to my expectations. In summary: A really nice cream without a lot of frills that fits like a glove under makeup. Fragrance-free and scent-free - golden star! The only thing I would have wished more from the product is that it could have handled the dry areas and properly moisturized there as well, think a bit all-around cream. Despite that, this will be a product that gets a permanent place in my bathroom cabinet. My rating is therefore 4 out of 5. ⭐️1 product in post Uncomplicated and frill-free everyday cream197 views - The post was made 2 weeksRating: 5 out of 5
Goodbye dry flakes - you will not be missed 👋🏽
Over the past two weeks, I have had the exciting task of testing and evaluating the #lykotestpilot creamy eye treatment with avocado 🥑 as #kiehls. Here is my honest review: A little about me and my skin: 🖤 Oily, sensitive skin type that easily becomes dry and occasionally suffers from barrier damage. 🖤 Easily irritated, red skin around the eyes year-round due to eczema. 🖤 I just turned 30, so I have a few fine lines under my eyes that are more pronounced when my skin is dry. My first observations: 🫙 Handy, easy-to-use packaging with a nice, minimalist design - right up my alley! The jar feels solid in material, giving me a bit of everyday luxury feeling. 🌿 Super lovely, really green color. It does say 'avocado' on the packaging, but I didn't expect this color, rather a white cream which is otherwise very common. Fun! ☁️ Just as promised on the packaging - incredibly creamy in consistency! Pros: 💐 Fragrance-free! For me with sensitive skin that can react quite unpleasantly to scented products with both redness, stinging, and itching, this is a gigantic plus. 💧 The product feels properly moisturizing right upon application and for several hours afterward without feeling greasy. 🫳🏽 Easy to work with and absorbs quickly for being so creamy in consistency. 💄 I wear makeup on weekdays and have problems in winter with both concealer and powder settling into the tiniest dry flakes under and around my eyes, highlighting the dryness. With this cream as a base, I found it easier to apply makeup just under the eyes, and the flakes were significantly less pronounced over time. Here, my expectations were truly exceeded; I never thought that after several years of flaking skin and patchy concealer under my eyes, I would be able to get rid of that problem. Woohoo! 🤏🏽 Incredibly economical - a tiny dab goes a long way! Cons: ➖ Nah, I actually can't think of anything. The bottom line: Finally (!) an eye cream that my skin can tolerate without getting cranky. Moisturizing, good base under makeup, cozy consistency, lovely color, nice packaging AND fragrance-free. What's not to love? Since I can't find anything negative to comment on, plus the fact that the product actually exceeded my expectations and improved my flaking-under-eye situation, my rating is therefore undoubtedly 5 out of 5. Bullseye!
FINALLY a brow pencil that is dark brown and doesn’t(!) pull warm 😍 I naturally have very dark, cool brows with thick strands that are quite sparse in places. Think soft charcoal. ♠️ I don’t know how many brow pencils, pomades, and gels I’ve gone through over the years with varying results; but it has often been very obvious that I’ve tried to “fill in” the sparsity. If the color hasn’t been way too warm and thus highlighted what I’ve tried to hide, it has been way too dark (black) and given a way too harsh impression (since my hair color is medium brown) 🫥 But here, here I’ve found my go-to! I’ve already bought a couple of extras “just in case.” Neutral, slightly cooler dark brown color that is buildable. With a light hand, I get a natural result that lasts all day with a little setting spray. 💦1 product in post Bullseye!348 views - The post was made 1 monthRating: 3 out of 5verified customer
Nice color - tricky applicator
I really like the color; just dark brown enough without looking black, nice! 🤎 Anyway, I absolutely do not agree with the applicator, the brush is (in my opinion) way too short and inflexible which makes it very hard to get really sharp wings. 🪽 Since easy, flowy, and quick application is at the top of my eyeliner wish list, the applicator brings down the rating, but the product has still found its place in my on-the-go makeup bag as a lifesaver when the makeup needs to be improved. 🎨1 product in post Nice color - tricky applicator74 views - The post was made 6 monthsRating: 5 out of 5verified customer
Playing with oily skin!
Long-lasting, easy to apply, and the eyeshadow stays put all day, despite my super oily skin. Will definitely be repurchased!1 product in post Playing with oily skin!653 views - The post was made 6 monthsRating: 4 out of 5verified customer
Incredible scent!
Besides the fact that the product smells completely magical, it works super well for detangling my long, straight hair that gets tangled at the slightest little thing. 🙌🏽 For me with very fine hair, only 1-2 sprays are needed, more than that and the hair became almost a little "sticky" and looked greasy. 👩🏽 The spray bottle could have been a bit more precise, the spray is quite wide, and therefore it's a bit tricky to avoid spraying down other surfaces in the bathroom. For me, it's the bathroom mirror that took the hit. 🧽 🫶🏽 Smells heavenly! Fresh and floral 🌷 🫶🏽 Good for detangling tangled hair 🫶🏽 Economical, a little product goes a long way ➖ Tricky spray function ➖ Can leave a sticky film if too much product is used on certain hair types. Trial and error is key!1 product in post Incredible scent!1534 views
