    Fix+ who?

Love isn't a strong enough word to describe what I feel for this product. So budget-friendly, so lovely! This is such a fine, fine mist, and I mean MiST, not like when brands claim to have a mist and then it spritzes you like a toddler with a straw, I mean mist like walking through the rain forest, preferably over a waterfall while Chris Evans serenades you on a ukulele. This fine mist melts your makeup to your skin, absorbs any powderiness and makes your makeup look like skin! I would say this is a worthy adversary to the iconic MAC Fix+, at a fraction of the cost. I would even say it might just be better overall (SACRILEGE!) because the fine mist (I know, again with the mist) makes it easier to get a more precise application. It does also mean you have to apply more spritzes, but that doesn't necessarily mean more product. in summary: this product is a real hidden gem!

Long-lasting and full-coverage, yet incredibly adaptable!

I recently started using this foundation despite having always thought it would be far too dry and matte for my dry skin. But lo and behold, when MAC claimed this foundation was for every skin-type they weren't exaggerating! The formula is so lightweight and not at all cake-y that when I simply pair it with a deeply moisturizing primer (I love this foundation with the always magical Clarins Beauty Flash Balm) I simply get full coverage - with a beautiful skin-like finish! Not to mention this foundation lasts all day, no problemo, I don't even need to set with powder! I simply finish of with MAC Fix+ or my favourite (budget-friendly) dupe: Lyko Facial Mist! I love that this foundation is so versatile, I could use this foundation on any skin-type, simply change the primer and amount applied! This would be amazing for a makeup artist or if you have problematic skin, like a combination skin, or if you live in a climate with cold harsh winters drying out your skin and warm, humid summers making your skin oilier. In summary, if you want a long-lasting, full-coverage foundation (with an AMAZING shaderange), I don't think you can go very wrong with this one, no matter what your skin type! i will point out that this foundation doesn't come with a pump (which, what?! It's 2021, MAC! How can a foundation not come with a pump??) so i would recommend purchasing this one: lyko.com/en/mac-cosmetics/mac-cosmetics-accessories-foundation-pump

    Magic in a tube!

This product is definitely a classic for a reason - it's magic in a tube! I use this as a primer underneath foundation, particularly more matte-looking, heavier-coverage foundations, and it makes my dry and dull complexion look plump and luminous like nothing else! To me, most "glowy" primers simply add a layer of shimmer on top of the skin. Beauty Flash Balm tightens and plumpens the skin, making my skin look like I just spent a week at the spa, getting facials and drinking plenty of water! This product melts into the foundation you put on top, giving it a beautiful dewy-satin finish. I use Beauty Flash Balm under Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, applied with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for flawless coverage with a beautiful skin-like finish. Now to the one drawback of this product: it is slightly finicky. You need to apply this product by patting it into the skin, never rubbing. It needs to be applied right after your moisturizer and followed by foundation pretty much right away. Using a damp makeup sponge to apply your foundation is the easiest tool to use I find, as it gives you a little more playtime and doesn't disturb the finish of the primer. You can also mix the product in with your foundation for a more effortless application. I think the results are worth it every time with this product, but I do think dry, dull or mature skintypes are the ones who will see the biggest benefits when using this as a primer.
