Lots of moisture
I have been so lucky to test The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors + Phytoceramides moisturizer. The formula is designed to strengthen the skin's moisture barrier using natural moisturizing factors (NMF), skin lipids, and plant-based ceramides. These ingredients are supposed to help bind moisture in the skin, reduce dryness, and give the skin a fuller and more hydrated appearance. I have been testing this cream for a while now, and my first impression is that it has quite a thick and rich texture. It feels nourishing on the skin, but is also economical in use! The cream is unfragranced and has no distinct scent, just a mild “cosmetic scent” that fragrance-free products generally have. Another big plus is that it comes in a tube. It is more hygienic than creams in a jar, as you avoid getting bacteria from fingers or nails into the product. All in all, a good and moisturizing cream at a nice price, especially if you want a richer cream that helps keep the skin hydrated throughout the day. Lip Exfoliator
I have been so lucky to test this product from The Ordinary. It is a chemical exfoliating lip serum with PHA (polyhydroxy acid) that is supposed to help remove dead skin cells and make the lips smoother and softer over time. At the same time, it also contains moisturizing ingredients that are supposed to help keep the lips hydrated. The product itself is thin and runny, which makes it a bit difficult to apply. The applicator does not make it easy to "spread" the product over the lips, as it comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. So I often ended up using my fingers to distribute it evenly on my lips, but the consistency really works against you. It is hard to dose the right amount, and because it was so runny, it dripped a little into my mouth over time - not a pleasant taste! I experienced a bit of stinging upon application, but nothing that felt uncomfortable – and that is quite normal since this is actually an exfoliating product. If you have very dry or cracked lips, it might feel a bit more, so be careful! The product should be applied and allowed to absorb without being washed off, which feels a bit unusual for an exfoliator. I didn’t notice any special results after use, but it could be the fault of the season. I really like the products from The Ordinary, and some of my staple products come from there - and their price range is unmatched. The idea behind this product is interesting, but for me, the applicator and consistency could have been a bit more user-friendly. Plumping serum
I have been so lucky to test this serum from The Ordinary. I am not on "Tik-Tok", but as far as I understand, this is a viral product there. However, I don't know anything about the product beforehand. When I was about to use it, I actually missed clearer guidelines on the packaging about how it should be used best. Recommended areas where it should be applied, and if there are areas to avoid. But also clearer information about what the product's function is. The idea behind the product is exciting! And I am eager to test it, but I must admit that I found it a bit difficult to use in practice. It doesn't come with an applicator, and the container makes it hard to control the amount of product that comes out, suddenly a lot just came out. And for a serum that is meant for quite precise application, in my opinion, it feels impractical. I tested the product on my lips since it is an area many would like a bit more “plumping” effect. The product was very runny, and almost a bit oily. But I can't say it gave much of a result, unfortunately. It tingled and burned a bit, as expected, but it’s possible I used the product wrong. I know from experience that lip plumpers can irritate and redden the skin, so I was very skeptical about using this plumping serum on my face. In general, I am a big fan of products from The Ordinary and think they deliver good quality for their price range. 903 Medium Glow
I was lucky to test L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glotion, and it gave a nice glow to my skin. I applied the product to half of my face and asked my partner if he saw any difference – and the first thing he commented on was that the side with the product had a «nice glow» ✨ The glow looked healthy and fresh. As for the color, 903 was unfortunately a bit too dark and warm for me. I have a very light skin tone with cool undertones, and both my partner and I agreed that the shade didn’t quite fit. For my skin tone, it would have been better with a shade lighter. The product had very little coverage. Despite being marketed as a foundation-like glotion, the coverage is almost non-existent. Personally, I like this a lot, as it gives a very natural result. But when I built up the product in areas where I wanted more coverage, the result became patchy, as the foundation got darker where more product was applied. As shown in the picture of swatches marked (1) «much» product, (2) less amount of product, and (3) the result of the product that was left on my finger after the other two, so very little amount of product. I’m sure this wouldn’t have been a problem if I had tested a shade that was better suited to my skin tone. Plump right back
I have been so lucky to test NYX's product Plump Right Back ⚡️ It is a serum and primer in one, and the first impression is very positive. The product has a fresh and pleasant scent, and the pump bottle makes it easy to get the right amount of product out. The consistency is almost lighter gel-like, but still very easy to apply evenly on the skin. After a short time, the skin becomes a bit «sticky», and this is exactly where the product really impresses. This stickiness makes foundation and other base products sit extremely well on the skin. The makeup has a good grip and lays nicely, without sliding around. For me, it worked very well under foundation 💛 If you don't like the feeling of sticky skin, you can let the product dry a little longer. After a while, it feels like it completely absorbs into the skin, while the effect is still there. The makeup still sits well, and the base stays nice over time. All in all, this is a primer that really does its job when it comes to longevity. It provides a good foundation for base products, especially if you want your makeup to last long. I have been so lucky to test Maybelline's Sky High mascara 🌸☁️ It comes in a cute and sleek packaging, and simply looks gorgeous in the makeup bag. It's a little plus that makes the product extra tempting to use. The mascara is easy to apply, and the silicone brush works really well! The brush is narrower at the tip, which makes it easy to reach the inner corners of the eyes and the lower lashes. It reaches all the lashes well and gives an even result from root to tip. The lashes feel neither stiff nor clumpy after application, which I really appreciate. The formula doesn't clump, and the mascara can easily be built up with more layers if you want more length and intensity. The result still looks pretty and defined, even with several strokes. All in all, this is a mascara that provides good control during application, separates the lashes nicely, and gives a soft and natural result – while also being buildable as needed. Silver Refine Highlight Treatment
I have been so lucky to receive Waterclouds' purple series 💜 It is one of my favorite brands, and I was completely converted the last time I tried one of their products. A little quick info: I have a hairdressing background and fully bleached, thick hair. My hair is very dry, damaged, and porous as a result of the bleaching. My hair quality is currently extremely poor due to exams and a lot of other stress. This leave-in spray has become a new favorite in my kit. Here's how I use the product: 1. Spray on dry hair – start with a small amount and gradually increase. 2. Comb the product through the hair for even distribution. 3. Blow-dry the hair. This helps the hair absorb the nourishing ingredients better while the pigments distribute more evenly. It also makes the hair feel non-greasy after use. The result is significantly softer hair, less frizz, and a light, nice toning of yellow pigments. And it smells so good! I have been so lucky to receive Waterclouds' purple series 💜 It is one of my favorite brands, and I was completely converted the last time I tried one of their products. A little quick info; I have a hairdressing background and fully bleached thick hair. It is very dry, damaged, and porous as a result of the bleaching. A mistake many make with purple products at home is that they often are not thorough, or they are done in 1-2 minutes. It is important to think of this as a treatment. Take your time, don’t rush anything. If you do, you will be rewarded with good results, making the product worth every penny. The conditioner has been used in conjunction with the shampoo in the same series. This was my method for achieving the result in my after picture; 1. Take a bit of your own shampoo, this is to remove grease and dirt - but most importantly, open the cuticles of the hair before you add pigments. 2. Take the purple shampoo in your hand and work it a bit with it/foam it up. This is so that the shampoo doesn’t become too concentrated where you first hit the hair, thus avoiding purple spots. 3. Work the shampoo WELL in, make sure to cover everything and apply plenty of product where you see it’s needed. 4. Rinse out and add the purple conditioner in the same series. 5. After you feel you have worked the conditioner well in, and have achieved an even application - wait 10-15 min. Perfect time to do your other shower routines! 6. Do not rinse out, but add your own conditioner and work it in. Wait 2-3 min. 7. Rinse out. Voila! The conditioner contains lots of pigments and has a lovely shimmer to it. My only negative feedback is that the conditioner foamed and that it didn’t feel nourishing. BUT, the conditioner really did its job when it came to "blocking in" the last pigments. I could see a massive difference in my hair in the shower. If you have bleached hair, you need to finish with something nourishing. And even though this wasn’t it, it felt like this was the star of the duo. There was no problem finishing with my own conditioner, and the result was a real WOW factor. Advanced Night Repair Serum
I have been so lucky to test Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum. The first impression of the packaging wasn't necessarily impressive, but the bottle definitely screamed "luxury". The heavy glass bottle gives an exclusive feel, and I love that it's made of glass - because that makes it more environmentally friendly. The pipette also has a great shape, with an angled tip that makes it easier to be more precise. The consistency is exactly what I expect from a serum, but with a bit more fullness that makes it feel more nourishing than the completely "watery" variants. It has a fresh scent, but I can't see any perfume on the ingredient list. The scent disappears quickly and doesn't linger. The serum absorbs nicely and doesn't leave any stickiness - which makes it the ultimate partner with other products and makeup prep. I have combination skin: a bit oily here, a bit dry there, and generally quite "mood-based". The results I've noticed the most are hydration, my skin feels smoother, hydrated, and generally more balanced - especially in the dry areas that usually scream for help. There is no dramatic transformation, but a nice, stable upgrade of the skin's overall condition. For me, skincare is about more than just glow – the face is most exposed to stress and free radicals every day. Damage can be difficult to reverse, so I like to take care of my skin now while I can. Good products are therefore not just a luxury, but a long-term investment.
