      Hey Charlotte This little handy tool can absolutely be used to create the same curls as a classic flat iron, but it may take a bit of practice to get the technique down since you need to hold the tool a bit more sideways and work with smaller sections of hair at a time when curling I would say that what primarily affects the durability of the curls is that you might need to work a bit slower through the hair with this tool, especially if you are used to a flat iron with higher temperatures (this one is at 180 degrees).
