More violet than cherry
At first, I actually don’t notice any clear cherry at all, but instead encounter a faint hint of licorice along with a very sweet, candy-like tone. Quite quickly, a very prominent violet takes over. After a while, it settles into a warmer scent. I expected significantly more cherry and to recognize more of the original, but unfortunately, I don’t. Since I love the original and usually like cherry perfumes, I had completely different expectations. It’s definitely good, but I wanted to like it more.. Maybe a bit too sweet for my taste, and I much prefer the original, but it feels like the kind of scent that grows on you the more you use it. Fresh but at the same time grown-up. Surprising!
I like light scents that are fresh and youthful, but as I’m approaching 40, I’ve felt that I want to find slightly more grown-up scents than Escada now. :) I like the original that’s just called La vie est Belle, and I love cherry scent, so I signed up to get a fragrance sample from Lancome. Loved the scent from the first minute! It reminds me of juicy ripe berries but with a background of violet candy that feels quite unique (I’m honestly not that experienced in the perfume world!). It has depth but feels like my other favorites, that is fresh and crisp. Really nice scent! #lykoreview1 product in post Fresh but at the same time grown-up. Not for me
Considering how much everyone hyped this, I was very disappointed. I expected more cherry scent than violet. Violet candy in a bottle 🤍
The first thing that strikes me is that it smells just like the classic Viol (you know, those little tablet boxes from when you were a kid!) One of my absolute favorites. On my skin, it’s really the violet that takes over and owns the stage. I actually barely notice any cherry scent at all, maybe just a very small and discreet hint hidden in the background. After wearing it for a while, the scent softens and the violet blends with a creamy, soft vanilla and a subtle touch of chocolate. The fragrance feels sophisticated and grown-up, but at the same time has a cozy, lively energy 🤌🏻 Even my mom got to try it and loved it right away! She experienced, just like me, that it was the violet that was the dominant note. So far, I’ve only tried a small sample, but this is definitely a scent I can see myself investing in a full bottle of in the future. I received a small sample of this fragrance and am pleasantly surprised! I haven't liked the previous La vie est belle scents, but this one has something. The notes in the description are clear: black cherry, violet, oud, and a bit of deep vanilla – all very prominent. The overall scent is sweet, deep, intense, rich, a little mysterious, and exciting! It's hard to stop smelling it... it's fantastic! I can definitely see Very Cherry as the perfect autumn fragrance, both elegant during the day and sensual in the evening.
