It's actually a pre-shampoo treatment, but I've started using it as a hair mask, that is, after shampoo and before conditioner, and it gives more results (saw this method from Abbey Young). And since I already use coconut oil on the lengths before showering except when I use detox shampoo, I already have a protective barrier that prevents my lengths from getting too dry. Dry product, so a little goes a long way and since I don’t use it more than once a week except in the beginning when I used this every wash the first 5 washes as recommended. I don’t feel a big difference but still think it does something. It feels like my hair strands have become a bit stronger but I also don’t know 100% if this product specifically contributed to that. Many hype this up to the skies and I think it requires a lot of time and continuous use to see bigger results if you don’t have incredibly, incredibly damaged and bleached hair. However, the technology and ingredients seem promising so based on that they should have done something. I’ve used it for 9 months so I will continue to use it and see if I notice a bigger difference so I’ll get back!! I use it as Abbey Young recommends since my lengths need lots of moisture so you let it work for 4 minutes after deep cleansing shampoo and then put in conditioner and rinse out. I think this method works better as I feel I get more moisturized hair this way while also getting the repairing properties from K18. OGX Magic Remedy has become a real favorite in my hair care routine over the past few months! 🥥✨ I’ve been using it according to the Abbey Yung method, which means I apply the oil to the lengths on dry hair about 30 minutes before I shower. Since I started doing that, I’ve noticed my lengths feel significantly less dry and more moisturized after washing ✨ I have dry and bleached Scandinavian hair, so my lengths often need a little extra care! This oil really fits perfectly for that. It’s quite rich and heavy, but also incredibly economical, so I only need to use a small amount on my fine strands. However, I don’t use it on days when I’m using K18!! A big plus is also the scent — it smells wonderfully of coconut, which I personally love! 🥥🤍 And considering how little product is needed, I also think it’s incredibly good value. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have very fine strands and easily get flat hair, since the oil is quite heavy and it’s very easy to overdo it. Here, “less is more” really applies! Updated text. I have now used this as a pre-wash treatment for 5 months. I apply a bit to the lengths and leave it on for half an hour before showering. If I’m going to use K18 in my hair wash, I avoid this product on those washes. I use quite a lot of product because my hair can handle it, so in the picture you can see how much I’ve used. Abbey Young has lots of tips, instructions, and more in-depth info if you want to check it out. I feel like my hair isn’t as dry after showering. It also feels a bit less tangled, which is super nice since my hair gets very tangled after showering. However, I need to try this more to really see the final result, but so far it feels good! The first month I also started with K18 where I used the K18 mask 5 times in a row and then once a month, so it’s hard to tell how much it did in the beginning. But now I’ve used the product regularly for 5 months and it feels like it has made a difference. I would definitely recommend others to try it if they experience dry or damaged lengths.
