    Love this!!

Hooray that Danessa Myricks is now available at Lyko!! Blurring Balm Powder is such a fantastically innovative product. It can be such a help for so many. I especially want to sing a serenade for the colorless variant called universal (note not to be confused with universal radiant, which is a new shimmering variant that I have not yet tested). Universal (I see that it is not in stock now, but if Lyko sees this, please note that there are now two colorless in the lineup, one completely colorless and one colorless with shimmer, so you don’t miss buying the completely colorless one because it is heelt wonderful!! What is this then? Well, nothing less than a powder in balm form!. Completely brilliant for dry skin types, mature skin, sensitive skin that generally has trouble with powders because it mattifies too much or makes the skin drier throughout the day. Blurring balm powder is not built on talc or similar powders that absorb oil and moisture drawn from the skin. As long as there is absorption capacity in the product, it will continue its process all day. Which often leads to makeup breaking down during the day if you have dry skin. Blurring balm Powder, on the other hand, is built around the Swedish innovation Upsalite, created by a team in Uppsala that has put the panther on a tiny micro-sponge, (think sponge in powder form) that instead of powder can absorb moisture and oil. But without making them completely inaccessible to the skin. That is, it can also give back to the skin when it starts to thirst. Which means it keeps the skin from becoming super shiny. But it also prevents it from drying out. Totally magnificent!. All that is needed is to lightly dab/press (no hard pressing needed) a tiny amount where you want the makeup to hold its finish or become a little more matte, and voilà, you have a super nice finish with a little less visible pores and a makeup that stays all day and looks just as nice when you get home as when you applied your makeup. It has replaced all powders for me. And it is also very easy to carry with you if you unexpectedly want to touch UP during the day. Then you can advantageously use one of the colored variants. Which are perfect for touch-ups. But also super nice if you want a more satin-matte foundation. The colored variants are more of a foundation. But the universal variant - that is, the completely colorless one is a makeup product that is simply wonderful. And also fun that it contains a Swedish innovation. I actually use a sponge to apply the balm powder, mostly because that was what I happened to have on hand the first time. But it can also be used with fingers, a powder puff, (actually), brush, etc. I like the sponge because it can be used without sweeping motions. Which is good if you have, for example, a cream blush underneath that doesn’t have any set function so that you don’t move around what is underneath but just lightly press this on top. Also note that you can go a long way with very little. When you apply, you see no difference. The difference comes when the product sets and absorbs excess moisture and oil. And if you take too much, it can feel a bit thick on the skin.

A true savior for my oily skin! I can't imagine doing makeup without this product now – combined with the setting spray from this line, it's truly out of this world. Definitely recommend

    Savior for Oily Skin 🆘

This Danessa Myricks Blurring Balm Powder Radiant has been really lovely as a primer! I especially like that it leaves a beautiful glowy effect on the skin and makes the skin look more radiant. Some days, with this, my makeup stays really nice and the oiliness is well controlled, but sometimes the skin looks a bit too dry with this, even though my skin is oily. That's why I still want to test which products and what kind of base I get the best result with. I believe finding the right combination makes quite a difference here. However, I really like how this makes the skin look, and the product is also super economical! I definitely want to try the Universal version and the tinted versions because this has been such an interesting product to use. 🤍 #lykoreview

When will it be back in stock?

I have been watching this product for several weeks in the color universal. Will you bring it back or has it been discontinued? It is my holy grail, so I hope it will be back soon… ❤️

Hi Josefine! 😊 Oh, I really understand that you are waiting for your holy grail! ❤️ Fortunately, it has not been discontinued from our assortment, but right now we don’t have an estimated date for when the color Universal might be back in stock. So it seems it will be a while before we get it again! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it won’t take too long. Take care! ✨

    under foundation

Can you use this product (tinted) under your foundation or does it get cakey then? Like using the product as a primer and to cover redness, and then applying your foundation afterwards ☺️

    Color changes and powdery

The product oxidized significantly more than I expected, even though the color seemed good at first application. The formula is powdery and I felt it settled around the nose and smile lines even with a good primer underneath.

Hi Mimmi! 🤗 Thank you for reviewing and sharing your experience, we really appreciate it 🙌 Too bad this didn’t quite become a favorite this time. You might have already tried this, but some tips for application are to moisturize your skin well beforehand, use a gripping primer, and work the product in very thin layers 😊🤍 If you’re looking for a new product and want some tips, we’re happy to help! 🥰➡ lyko.com/sv/kundservice Take care! ☀

    DON'T BUY

It's creamy, smells like chemicals, and literally ruined my skin barrier.... worst product I've ever bought, and I can't even return it! I should've gotten it at Sephora in Canada, at least they let you return products. And I don't live near a Lyko so no, I cannot try it in store before purchase. It doesn’t blend nicely at all, it leaves dry cracked patches on the skin. I've never had a foundation as bad as this, especially one that literally burns your face!!! If this review makes you think about whether you should buy this product, this is your sign not to.

I'm considering buying this product and get a bit curious when I read your review. Many with oily skin seem to love it, is your skin on the drier side? Mine is oily, so I wonder if it could still be something for me, even if it doesn't suit you. 🤗

    Love this!

I have combined skin and other primers I have tested before make my skin dry and the makeup cakey. Throughout the day, I get quite an oily T-zone and have to powder it often. I use this balm as a primer and my makeup has never stayed so nice, even after many hours I don't need to powder my face! I really recommend this!

Good shades, works, but doesn't hold up to sweat

This is easy to apply either with a brush or fingers, and the coverage and blurring effect are really good (picture 1) 😍 Additionally, plus points for a really good shade, just the right cool undertone for my skin tone. The foundation looks beautiful, and the product is easy to use. A small amount lasts a long time! So far, the only downside is that this doesn't hold up to sweat - I sweat easily from my face during the day, and it shows by the evening when looked at closely; the makeup moves off the skin and doesn't look as good later (picture 2). However, this is such a lovely product otherwise that I plan to continue "testing" and change the review if necessary. At this point, it’s still possible that something else in the base application has failed, and the product might work better with a different kind of skin prep. I will update the review if needed, but I ended up here for now. #lykoreview

    Doing the trick

I have more of a well-meaning comment about the blurring balm powder from Danessa Myricks. The spatula that comes with it is exactly what you need for your whole face, smoothly applied. For just your T-zone, you get it. Good prep of your skin is essential, even with very oily skin, which can also be moisture-deprived. This way, you won't get a dried-out result. Be careful and really apply very little and spread it with your fingertips where you want it. Building is not necessary at all. If used this way, you get a beautiful blurring result. Let it settle for a minute before moving on. All DMB products can be used over and under each other.
