Does its job
Works exactly as retinol should, easy to use. However, this one has started to smell a bit strange after 2 months. I know that old retinol typically smells like garlic, so based on that, I wouldn't say the product has gone bad or spoiled. Hard smell to describe, but I wonder why it suddenly started smelling so weird. Mysterious9 viewsto leave a comment - 6 days
Can you mix?
Hi! I have both Niamcinamide 10%+zinc 1%, Hylaronic Acid, and this retinol and the talked-about snail serum. I just bought these as I want to expand after using 0.5 retinol for a year. But I'm a bit unsure if I can mix these? And in what order I should use them? Should I split something between morning and evening? 🤔 And is it correct that I always use a moisturizer during the day and an anti-aging night cream at night? 😊 Thanks so much in advance! ❤️ - 1 monthverified customer
Disappointment
Did not do what was promised for my skin.. Dried slowly and needs to be used within 3 months. Which I think is way too quick of an expiration time for a skincare product.887 views- Customer service at Lyko1 monthHi Viivi, I’m sorry to hear that the product didn’t meet your expectations. The effectiveness of products is of course always individual, and long-term effects are rewarded ❤️ Retinol products typically have a short shelf life, as retinol is a sensitive ingredient and can lose its potency when exposed to light, oxygen, or moisture. Slow absorption can be influenced by the product's composition, such as squalane, which is oil-based and absorbs a bit differently depending on skin type. To improve comfort of use, we recommend applying the product in the evening to clean, dry skin, and if necessary, following up with a light moisturizer. If you didn’t experience the desired results, we’d be happy to help you find a product that suits your skin type better. Please reach out to customer service@lyko.fi if you have any further questions! 😊

The OrdinaryRetinol 1% in Squalane 30 ml
This water-free solution contains 1% Retinol, a well-studied ingredient that aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and textural irregularities. While Retinol has been studied extensively, it can be irritating to the skin for first-time users and requires a build up of skin tolerance. For this reason, we generally recommend using Granactive Retinoid 2% or Granactive Retinoid 5% for first-time users. This formula also offers hydrating benefits due to the presence of Squalane.
The Ordinary’s portfolio of retinoids includes the following formulations:
Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (Moderate Strength, No Irritation)
Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane (Moderate Strength, No Irritation)
Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane (High Strength, No to Low Irritation)
Retinol 0.2% in Squalane (Low Strength, Moderate Irritation)
Retinol 0.5% in Squalane (Moderate Strength, High Irritation)
Retinol 1% in Squalane (High Strength, Very High Irritation)
Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
