Retinol, retinal, retinoid??
I understand that these different ones need to be converted in the skin before they reach their form that is absorbed by the skin and has an effect. BUT do you want it to be converted multiple times, or does it have the best effect if it only needs to be converted once? Grateful for an answer!Translated from swedish
556 views- Customer service at Lyko1 weekHey! ☺️ You are absolutely right – retinol, retinal (retinaldehyde), and other retinoids need to be converted in the skin before they become active. The fewer conversion steps required, the stronger (and faster) the effect you get. So if you have sensitive skin, I would recommend something like Retinyl Palmitate, which converts 3 times. While Retinal only converts 1 time and is therefore more effective for a brighter skin 💗 Hope you got some clarity! Good luck and take care! ✨1 likes

tips for me!!
how often should one use this? in which step of the skincare routine? now that it’s starting to go towards summer and sun, how should one deal with retinol then? I am completely new to this and my wish is to reduce and smooth out a lot of acne in my face and unevenness, encapsulated pimples in my face.Translated from swedish

Tips
Which one do you think works best for keratosis pilaris, this one or Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating TonerTranslated from swedish
764 views- Customer service at Lyko3 weeksHello! I wouldn't recommend retinol for keratosis pilaris, but Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner or lyko.com/sv/the-inkey-list/the-inkey-list-glycolic-acid-exfoliating-body-stick-45-g I would highly recommend 😍 Take care! ✨

Serum
Hi. I have ordered this, and I haven't used this serum before. What do you recommend to use before and after the serum, and which face cream is good to use?Translated from norwegian
1231 views- Skin therapist at Lyko1 monthHi Natalie 👋 It completely depends on what skin type and skin condition you have, as well as what other products you have in your skincare routines morning and night. In this case, I would absolutely recommend you take our free skin test so we can look at your skin and set up a recommended skincare routine for you using this product 🥰 You can find the skin test in our app under the "beauty scan" section! Wishing you a great day ahead 🙌1 likes

Usage
Can this product be used with hyaluronic acid and niacin serum? And if so, in what order should they be used?Translated from swedish
1 likes2503 views- Employees at Lyko2 monthsHey Zelda! 👋🏻☺️ Yes, this product can be used together with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide ✨ Recommended order in your evening routine 👇🏻☺️ 1️⃣ Hyaluronic Acid (hydrates and prepares the skin) 2️⃣ Niacinamide (strengthens the skin barrier and balances oil) 3️⃣ Retinol in Squalane (last step since it is oil-based) 💡 Tip: Start with retinol 1-2 times a week and gradually increase. Always use SPF during the day as retinol makes the skin more sensitive to the sun. Good luck! 😊✨1 likes

question
can this help make stretch marks less visible? I am 14 and mine are red/purple, so I mostly just want them to turn white❤️Translated from swedish
2765 views- Customer service at Lyko2 monthsHello there Esther! 👋 Great question! But I wouldn't recommend using this as Retinol is a very strong product and shouldn't be used when you're under 20 years old, as you have more sensitive skin and could instead damage your skin🤍 Instead, I would suggest this oil that works moisturizing and softening to minimize scars and stretch marks lyko.com/sv/bio-oil/bio-oil-hudvardsolja--naturliga-ingredienser--60-ml Stretch marks and scars also fade over time, so give it a little time, and they will become whiter as time goes on🤍 Take care! ✨

Combine the ordinary
Can you use this together with The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and when in the skincare routine should it be applied? 🤗Translated from swedish
4096 views- Skin therapist at Lyko3 monthsHey Jonna! Without knowing more about your skin, you can combine them, but I would recommend getting your skin used to them first one at a time. So start with one first so it doesn't become too much for your skin with both at once. A few drops of niacinamide and let it absorb, then retinol and possibly a cream. Take care 🤗3 likes

I was thinking of incorporating this into a routine.. Is it correct that you do -Cleansing -The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 -Retinol 0.5% -La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5+ Or should I change something?Translated from swedish
3034 views- Customer service at Lyko3 monthsHey Johanna! 🌟👋 This order is going to be super great if you want to incorporate retinol into your routine. 🥰 Just remember to use it in your evening routine and to gradually introduce it to your skin to avoid any reactions. 🌟 Take care! ❄️

White Stretch Marks
Can you use the serum for white stretch marks?Translated from swedish
5021 views- Farmaceut på Lyko3 monthsHey Zozo✨ Retinol is known for its positive effects on skin health as it can help improve skin texture, increase collagen production, and thereby also reduce the visibility of stretch marks. This serum can therefore help with that. However, if your stretch marks are caused by pregnancy and you are still breastfeeding, you should wait until after this period as retinol should not be used during pregnancy/breastfeeding🤰🏽 Here’s another alternative that is okay to use instead in that case: lyko.com/en/skincare/skin-condition/body/stretch-marks/maria-akerberg-lovely-mother-body-oil 🎉 I hope you find an alternative that works well for you and that you have a lovely day❄️2 likes

The OrdinaryRetinol 0.5% in Squalane 30 ml
This water-free solution contains 0.5% Retinol, a well-studied ingredient that aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and textural irregularities. While Retinol has been studied extensively, it can be irritating to the skin for first-time users and requires a build up of skin tolerance. For this reason, we generally recommend using Granactive Retinoid 2% or Granactive Retinoid 5% for first-time users. This formula also offers hydrating benefits due to the presence of Squalane.
The Ordinary’s portfolio of retinoids includes the following formulations:
Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (Moderate Strength, No Irritation)
Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane (High Strength, No to Low Irritation)
Retinol 0.2% in Squalane (Low Strength, Moderate Irritation)
Retinol 0.5% in Squalane (Moderate Strength, High Irritation)
Retinol 1% in Squalane (High Strength, Very High Irritation) Note: When pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid any skincare products containing retinoids such as formulations with Granactive Retinoid or Retinol.
Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
