Cheap lip product that plumps the lips
Do you like the feeling and look of plumped lips? 👄 Then this product is perfect for you! I don’t really like such products usually, but this one feels more “cool” and not uncomfortable in any way, which surprised me in a positive way. 🌸 The color doesn’t show much on my lips even though it has quite good pigment. This product is more for plump and shine rather than color, so it doesn’t get full points from me. 🩷 However, this product is very affordable, because I think plumping lip products can often be quite expensive and in the worst case sting. But not this one 😎 In the first picture you see my lips without product and in the second picture how they look afterwards. You can see a difference! Nice shine, but....
🙏In my latest assignment, I received 3 products from Lyko's own brand, and here are my thoughts on this lip balm. 👎I think we should start with what I like least: The appearance – the packaging is not at all to my taste and looks more like a free merch product, one you get at festivals or other fun events. The tube feels incredibly plastic and cheap. Also, the fact that you can't screw the product back on once you've opened it makes it feel even cheaper. 🤷But the formula itself? Well, at first application, I was a bit shocked at how soft the balm was – like room temperature butter. I accidentally pressed too hard the first time, so be careful when applying!! Here, I'm not entirely convinced that I like the formula/consistency. 👍Result and feel: Okay, here I have nothing to complain about. The shine is incredible, and the color I chose is super nice, muted but with plenty of shine. Nice on its own but also over lip liner. The color and shine hold up quite well too, and since it's so rich and you only need to dab it on, you can happily reapply. 👄The plumping effect isn't the best, but you can still see some difference. The tingling is just right and not unpleasant like some plumping products can be. 🤌Whether it cares for my lips, I can't say as I've used it too briefly to judge, but I haven't noticed it drying out my lips like some cheaper products tend to do to me. ⭐If I could give it 2.5 stars, I would, but since it doesn't reach a 3, it gets 2 stars from me. A little unsure here!
I was lucky enough to try out 3 makeup products from #bylyko, so this time I went with the Melt down lip balm in the color pink wink 💖 For me, it was really a melt down if I can say so 🙈😂 It melted before it even reached my lips! I don’t like when lip balms get very sticky, and unfortunately this one did 🙄 But the color and scent were absolutely lovely! Unfortunately…
It feels disappointing to give such a low rating because the product itself is good. Softening and gives shine. BUT, no color shows, nor any plumping effect. And you can’t turn the balm down… :( After using it 6-7 times, and I was careful since several wrote that it’s very soft, it also couldn’t be turned UP! It turned out it was almost empty and that was the problem… Feels a bit uneconomical! Melts on the lips!
Sure, it’s called melt in the name, but wow anyway! When you see it in the packaging, I didn’t at all think it would leave such a crazy shine! The color also turns out super nice for me who doesn’t like too pigmented or lipstick/gloss in that way. Also looks super nice over a lip liner. Doesn’t smudge, but maybe fades a bit fast (it doesn’t last several hours without touch-ups, but I don’t know what the intention is either). I really love this!
I got this at home from Lyko to try out. I’m so grateful and can really say that I like where ByLyko is going. I think it has developed and the products are really getting better and better. The color is so beautiful! The texture is not sticky at all. Be careful not to twist it up too far. It goes down. Apply lightly 1-2 times and put on one layer. What sometimes bothers me is that it has a bit of a plumping effect, I would wish for a lip balm without that. Otherwise, so good for the price! Like the feeling, but
Not a new favorite. What immediately brings it down for me is the packaging. Sorry, but that actually matters a bit, lip products are worn throughout the day and I like the product to look and feel a bit "exclusive." The packaging looks like something you’d get in a toy store, so absolutely not appealing to me. As for the product formulation itself, it’s very, very soft. So soft that the first time I applied it, I took way too much just from a light press against my lips, so be careful. The color is overall just transparent, so it probably doesn’t matter much which color you choose here. It mainly gives shine, I’m a bit unsure about the plumping effect, but it tingles and the feeling is good. Not too much, so it doesn’t sting. If you’ve used BUXOM glosses, the feeling is quite identical. I don’t find that the product dries out my lips or that I need another product for moisture throughout the day, which I often do with such products. All in all, I’m not a fan.
