Was so lucky to test this as a Lyko Influtester, and now I can say Iām super satisfied. Itās in beautiful baby pink, fave colorš©· Easy to handle, takes up little space so itās perfect to take on trips. It really smooths out the hair, I have so much frizz and it took it all away in such a short time. (Now I can finally throw away my old oneš) The only downside is that I found it hard to curl with it, as it was so hot to hold at the tip. So I will only use it as a straightener. But itās amazing for that!š„³šš¼ (It quickly got rid of the two cowlicks I struggle with). Completely functional flat iron! PLUS + The cord is rotatable + Long cord + The flat iron has a good normal weight + It does its job + There are several different heat settings to choose from MINUS - It can feel a bit bulky and large when I compare it to my old one and others nearby. - Doesn't feel very optimal/practical for making curls if that's also what you're after. FINAL THOUGHT: I use a flat iron very rarely these days, so this isn't really a problem for me. Broken flat iron
Hi! My daughter had a flat iron that broke. (She doesnāt have a receipt since she got it as a gift, so she asked me to check if I could find the problem) The most likely issue is something wrong with the 360-degree cord connection, so I removed it. However, the colors on the wires are different, so Iām wondering if you can tell me which cables should be connected. However, when it comes to an electrical product like a flat iron, we cannot help with telling which cables should be connected. Once the cord and connections have been opened, it is no longer possible to guarantee that the product is safe to use ā”ļø The unfortunate answer is therefore that I would recommend not repairing it yourself, but to discard the flat iron and replace it with a new one. Good budget option
For the price, itās a really good flat iron! As a former hairstylist, there are a few things I look for when buying a flat iron: āļø Is there heat control? āļø Can you turn it on/off without unplugging it? āļø Does it turn off automatically after a certain period of inactivity? āļø Can you use it without accidentally pressing any buttons (e.g., the power or heat control)? āļø Are the plates ceramic? āļø Does it close tightly when you press it together, or is there a gap? (To avoid it catching, pulling hair, or straightening unevenly). āļø Is the cord good quality to prevent tangling or knots, and is it long enough? āļø Is it easy to press together with one hand, or do you need two? āļø Does the plastic around the heating plates get super hot, or does it stay relatively cool? (So you donāt risk burning yourself). āļø Is it easy to use? āļø Does it heat up quickly? āļø Is the design suitable for both curling and straightening? As you can see, I have high standards and expectations for a flat iron. Iāve owned many over the years, and this one ranks in my top 3! At the very top is still GHD, although they tend to have an annoying quick shut-off feature that means you have to restart it very often. Those flat irons are usually around 2,000 SEK. I donāt experience this problem with Lykoās own super nice pink flat iron! However, the reason it only gets 4/5 stars is the plates themselves donāt close tightly. Unfortunately, the plates arenāt completely straight, which causes a gap in the middle of the flat iron, which unfortunately pulls hair and leaves the middle section a bit wavy. This means you have to go over the same section multiple times, which isnāt ideal because then the heat protection stops working! If you work with very narrow and thin sections at lower heat, you can get a shiny and ultra-smooth result, but you have to be careful so the hair doesnāt get caught or pulled anyway. Everything else is 5/5, but as I said, Iām a bit picky. For the price, itās an excellent product, but it feels like Lyko could be the first to release a budget flat iron that doesnāt have gaps! I have tested the Smooth Operator flat iron from #bylyko and I am simply super satisfied! It comes in exclusive packaging, so itās great as a gift for yourself or othersš The flat iron has a function that lets you set the desired temperature, an on/off button that makes it easy to operate! I tried all the different temperatures and because I have thick hair, I found that it straightens most effectively at the highest temperatureš Otherwise, it has good quality, itās comfortable to hold and easy to use. Exceeded my expectations! š
I was so lucky to get to test this straightener through Lykoās influencer test program, and I have to admit I was really positively surprised! Iāve been using an older GHD straightener for several years, so I was a bit curious if this one could measure up. To my surprise, I actually liked this one even better! I tested it at 170 Ā°C, 200 Ā°C, and 220 Ā°C to find out what worked best on my hair. For me, 200 Ā°C was the clear winner ā my hair became smooth, soft, and stayed nice without me feeling the need to go over the same sections multiple times. The whole hair was straightened in about 10 minutes, which I think is very fast! One of the things I liked best was how easy it was to work with. It glides nicely through the hair without snagging, and the result was really smooth and shiny. That made the whole process both quick and easy. I also have to mention the design! I think it looks incredibly nice, and the color makes it stand out a bit from many other straighteners. It simply feels a bit extra luxurious + pink is my favorite color, so maybe it was even easier for me to fall in love with both the color and the design. This one has actually earned a permanent spot in my bathroom drawer and will replace my old GHD. Pleasantly surprised!
Received this flat iron #bylyko as #lykoinflutester, and at first glance, I was happy with the nice packaging it came in and the lovely pink color. My first test was straightening my hair, and I liked the result and how easy it was. It didnāt get stuck in hair strands when I took a larger section of hair, which is a big plus. Easy to start and adjust the heat. It also heated up quickly, which is appreciated, plus a long cord. Then I tried curling my hair (which I always do with a flat iron), and it made really nice curls. A very nice flat iron that has a long cord so you can use it almost anywhere. You can choose the temperature you want and the flat iron heats up very quickly, which is great. In the pictures, I show my hair in three steps: first completely natural, then straightened on one side and curled on the other. I think it gives a good picture of what the flat iron can actually do! āØ šāāļø My hair I have quite thick and uncolored hair, so I need tools that can handle my hair without me having to spend too much time styling. š„ First impression The first thing I thought when I got this flat iron was how beautiful it is! š The light pink color feels both sleek and a bit luxurious. It looks much more expensive than it actually is. āØ Straightening I used the flat iron to straighten one side of my hair, and this is really where it performs best. The hair became smooth, shiny, and looked much more well-groomed. It glides easily through the hair, and I didnāt have to go over the same section many times. Since the flat iron has fairly straight edges, I think itās especially good for straightening. The result was really nice and held up well throughout the day. āØ š Curls On the other side of my hair, I tried making curls. It actually worked very well, and the curls turned out nice, but I noticed that the flat iron is primarily designed for straightening hair. Since the edges arenāt rounded, it requires a bit more technique compared to flat irons designed for curls. That said, itās definitely a tool that can handle both, which I appreciate. š š Details that make a difference A big plus is the long cord! š It makes styling much easier and gives more freedom of movement. I also appreciate that itās easy to see when the flat iron has reached the right temperature.
