Female Founded Brands - Europe

Who runs this world – GIRLS!

Love’n Layer was founded by Ida Thern in 2021. The hype was significant when the first products
launched in October of that year. Ida, with the help of her family, spent every waking hour in the
first days packing and sending the orders from her pool house. Today, Love’n Layer is a successful
company with HQ outside of Stockholm Sweden and has Lyko as its part-owner. This gets us
wondering, what’s the story behind Love’n Layer?

"It all started when I was pregnant with my second child. After ten years of salon visits, my nails were
in terrible condition. I searched for long-lasting nail polish and ended up with no results. This caught
my interest, and I began to study the medical aspects of nails and nail polish. I was horrified when I
realized the amount of chemicals inside those small bottles. The trend of painting nails started in the
1930s, and everything, except for new colors, has stayed the same. My additional problem and
sustainability interest became Love’n Layer."

Do you have any big moments with Love’n Layer that you are proud of?

Ida: "Having Lyko as our part-owner was a milestone moment. We also received two prestigious awards,
including “Innovation of the Year 2021”. Additionally, as I see successful, strong women, such as
leading politicians and well-known musicians, wearing our Layers in major TV productions like the
Eurovision Song Contest with a 200 million audience. We have been featured on Swedish TV shows
such as Idol and announced as the best gift on a Swedish morning show."
