âš First impression WOW! đ€© I personally use Milk's primer, so this will be a comparison with this one. I must say that I am very impressed! I get the same nice grip effect with Elf even though they are in completely different price ranges. I also think that Elf actually dries myyyuch faster, which is always good, I usually don't have that much time nowadays when I do my makeup đ đ€± About me I have dry skin that leans towards sensitive. I usually choose base products that are moisturizing and give glow. The makeup usually sits fairly well, but by the afternoon I can get shiny in the t-zone. đ My thoughts and experiences So impressed that the primer dries quickly đđ» I love the tube, it feels smooth, is easy to use, and you get the right amount out right away. The design is simple but nice. Feels nice and a bit cooling upon application, you can clearly feel the grip effect. A bit of a special sticky feeling, but then when you put on foundation, they blend so well! đ€đ€ I definitely think this is a great dupe for Milk's primer, I will most likely buy this more times! âš I still got a bit shiny in the t-zone by the afternoon/evening, I get that with all the other primers I've tested too. Who has NOT heard and seen a lot about #ELFCosmetics today & through American influencers!? đ€© So freaking excited about the FOURTH product I get to try as a #LykoInflutester!!! đ€© I added this to my makeup routine every morning for a week đ€Ą I wanted to love it, but.. This fragrance-free primer comes in a simple tube with a pump for easier control of the amount. The consistency is like a firm gel, in a light green tone that doesnât look green on the face. đ€„ đąWeird consistencyđŹ I find it very hard to spread on my face due to its firm, stiff consistency. It felt more like trying to lay an even layer of brow gel/eyelash glue, it felt like my skin was being pulled and irritated.đŹ I got a bit red in the face from it, but thankfully the redness faded after a while. đ€ It remains tacky/sticky, something that might not be for everyone, but many think it helps makeup stick better and last longer throughout the day, which I must agree with. đ âŒïžBUT.. Hereâs the absolute biggest problem. I used this every morning for 7 days, and started getting pimples. Like real, deep ones, not just little spots. I first connected it to stress, which Iâve had quite a bit of. Suddenly it hit me; Primer. Good grip
Sits really well on my skin and gives my foundation a good grip so it lasts better. Would absolutely buy this over the OG from Milk Makeup. Tried both and Milkâs doesnât work for all foundations for me and peels off very easily, leaving small product flakes on the skin. The Elf version never does that! Absorbs much better and is more economical. No other primer has been able to compare to this so far, and I've tried pretty much everything in grippy primers. Yes, I even put this over Milk Hydro Grip. Elf knew exactly what they were doing when they released the bigger version! This together with a setting spray keeps makeup on ALL day. đ My favorite when I want my makeup to really stay put!
e.l.f. Power Grip Primer is one of those products that I think makes a big difference when I want my makeup to feel more even and last better throughout the day. I really like primers that donât just feel like an extra step but actually do something for the entire base. The texture is a bit gel-like and almost feels like the skin gets a thin, moisturizing layer. I find it easy to work in and especially like the feeling when it becomes a bit âgrippyâ on the skin. Thatâs exactly the feeling that helps foundation have something to hold onto. âš Above all, I think itâs lovely when I want my base to stay looking nice longer. Foundation and concealer feel more like theyâre staying in place instead of moving around so easily. At the same time, I experience that the skin feels moisturized rather than dry and powdery after the primer. That suits me especially well when I want a fresher makeup look. đ€ I also like that it works well with different types of base products. A little primer, let it set for a moment, and then foundation on top â simple but effective. This is definitely one of those products I appreciate extra much when Iâm doing makeup that needs to last a long time. For everyday when I just want to throw on some concealer, I might not always need it, but when I want the whole base to feel more fixed, itâs really useful. đ„° For me, itâs mainly the grip, the moisturizing feeling, and the help with making the makeup stay better that makes this primer so good.
