Color Wow Raise the roots spray
I have now tested Color Wow's Raise the root spray and think it was a super lovely product that gave a lot of volume, especially at the front. It was easy to work with and smelled really good and gave no texture in the hair, it felt like you had no product in. It’s giving ... ✨nothing✨
I am totally, absolutely disappointed. This spray does absolutely nothing. NOTHING. I would even say its only added value is nerves and a feeling of irritation. At first use… the dispenser broke. I don’t know if I pressed too hard or what happened, because I definitely don’t have Hulk-like strength. But I thought: well, bad luck, it happens. I poured the product into another empty spray bottle and carried on. The real drama happened after freshly washing my hair and trying to style it. I bought it mainly thinking about my bangs and the top layer of hair, to gently lift them from the roots. I have very thick and heavy hair, so using it from the nape upwards would be pointless. I did exactly what I saw influencers do that convinced me to try this product. 🤡 I sprayed at the roots, then grabbed my Dyson to first blow-dry holding the hair upwards with my hand, then used a round brush to dry and style the hair, lifting it from the roots upwards. The result? Clumped hair that looked like I deliberately sprayed hairspray on it from just a few centimeters away. You definitely know the kind of crust I mean. 😭 I had a huge problem even combing it out. Maybe the product dried too fast? But honestly, I find that hard to believe. Luckily, after thorough, sometimes definitely too aggressive brushing for me, I managed to comb that layer out of my hair. Unfortunately, the hair was very unpleasant to the touch for the rest of the day. But of course, I gave it a second chance. Because maybe I did something wrong. This time I applied the product to slightly damp hair and didn’t dry it additionally. The Dyson rotating brush went into action immediately. The result? Exactly the same. Or even worse. God, how much I struggled trying to comb it out afterwards! It was downright absurd. The product that was supposed to give volume and lift gave me mainly clumped hair, an unpleasant texture, and an emotional crisis. I don’t know if the problem lies with my hair, the application method, or if I just completely didn’t like the product. But one thing I know: Never. Does what it should
This is a perfectly fine product that works well with the other hair products I use. It makes the hair easier to style and gives a nice result. Really gives a lift at the roots. Once it has dried properly in the hair, I don't think it feels that much, but after a few days when the hair has become a bit oily, I find that this feels very sticky. I am really satisfied with this product. It gives nice volume and fullness that lasts all day without the hair feeling hard, sticky, or brittle. The hair still feels soft and natural, which I appreciate. Extra plus for it working just as well on both dry and damp hair, and the result was even better when blow-drying it in. The fact that it is also free from parabens, sulfates, and gluten makes it an obvious top choice for me.
