Awesome!
The last #lykoinflutester assignment of the year is this series from L'oréal, and here are my thoughts on the mask, first a bit of info about my hair: • My scalp gets oily quickly, but the lengths are a bit dry. • Thin and lacks volume. • Losing quite a bit of hair. • I dye my hair at home, about every 6 weeks. • Hard municipal water. I initially found it a bit confusing that you shouldn't use any conditioner but this mask instead. From what I understand, this mask is a bit more effective than a regular conditioner and is probably needed since the feeling after shampooing is a bit detox-like (even though the shampoo isn't a pure detox shampoo). About the product: • Jar with a screw lid, not my favorite packaging in the shower. • Creamy, thick, and "cozy" consistency. Feels like a hug for the hair! • The scent is a minus for me. This citrus/lavender/"hay" thing is a real divider - you either love or hate the scent. • Short application time - big plus! However, better effect with longer application time. • Feels gentle but effective! • A little goes a long way. I accidentally (as usual) took way too much the first time, but then I noticed my hair felt heavy. The result: • Leaves hair soft and manageable. • With the right dosage, it doesn't weigh my hair down. • Leaves a nice shine, smooth, and no frizz. • As I mentioned about the shampoo, my hair gets oily faster, but I think that's due to the shampoo, not the mask, since I only have it in the lengths. Works well, but smells strong!
I have thin Nordic hair that is a bit bleached at the ends. Before I started testing the Metal DX series from L’Oréal Professional, my hair was dry and frizzy. It needed both moisture and shine. The hair mask comes in a classic jar that looks nice. It is economical in use and easily settles in the hair. If you have thin hair like me, I recommend being careful with the amount of product and ensuring it is thoroughly rinsed out. The product is so liquid that I personally would have preferred it to be in a bottle, as that would have made adjusting the amount during application easier. As mentioned in the title, the mask works very well for my hair type. I found that it became shinier and healthier. But.. and this is a big BUT, the entire Metal DX series smells, according to my partner and several of my friends' feedback, veeeery strong!! I simply had to give up testing after a week and a half, as I felt like I was walking around smelling like a men's wardrobe. The series smells very similar to Axe body spray for men, not a scent I personally prefer to be associated with. (I received several comments on this, without anyone knowing I had these products in.) Everyone needs this mask in their routine.
I have been dyeing my hair for 6 years now. So I have really had lifeless hair for a long time. This product is truly worth the hype. It feels like I come out of the salon chair every shower I use it in. I would recommend it and not use it every day. It works well when metals have built up a bit in my own opinion. I have also heard a lot about how metals in tap water can damage hair, but I never thought I would feel such an enormous difference after just one use! Why it works (The Science): What makes Metal DX unique is the molecule Glicoamine. It is so small that it actually penetrates the hair strand and cleanses out metal particles (like copper) that otherwise make the hair brittle and dull. So it doesn't just sit on the outside like a film, but cleans deep down. My experience: • Feel: The hair feels immediately more manageable and "fresh". That gum-like or frizzy texture that can occur after bleaching is like blown away. • Result: Incredible shine! The color looks clearer and the hair feels stronger. It's like the hair has had a real detox. • Scent: It smells very luxurious and "salon-like", which I love. Tip: It is super concentrated, so you don't need to use a lot of product. Let it sit for about 1-5 minutes for best effect. Conclusion: If you live in an area with hard water, or if you bleach/dye your hair often like I do, this is an investment you won't regret. I have naturally brown hair. No color in my hair. I have many hair strands but not thick hair. The hairdresser usually comments that my hair is dry. I got this recommended by my hairdresser and J*KLAR!!! Used a larger amount of conditioner than usual according to the hairdresser's recommendation after having the mask in for about 3 minutes, and I have never experienced getting such soft hair DIRECTLY.
