A total dream! ✨
As #lykinflutester, I got to test three products from #nars, including this concealer! I didn't think this would suit me at all, as I usually use thin concealers that give glow. This one is completely full coverage and gives a matte finish. I have fine lines around my eyes and am generally dry in my skin, so at first glance, I was hesitant. 👀 But the concealer really performs beyond expectations! It gives medium coverage if you take a liiiittle product, and it builds up beautifully ✨ I think it feels light on the skin and blends in nicely despite the full coverage formula. It also contains great ingredients like peptides, vitamins A, E, and C, and I really love makeup that is caring for the skin 🫶🏼 since I'm used to lighter formulas, it took me a while to learn how little product is actually needed from this to achieve a perfected result, this gem will last me a long time. For me, it works best to pick up a little product and apply it to the back of my hand first, then I go in with it on my face where I want to cover redness, etc. It warms up a bit on the hand, and then I can more easily control the amount I want on my face 👏🏼 the concealer works well with both brush or sponge. I prefer to apply with my fingers first and then go in with a sponge for the best result ✨✨ It covers fantastically well, so if you're looking for a buildable concealer that covers seven tough years, this one is for you 😅 I still think it eventually settles into fine lines, so I can't give it a perfect score. On my skin, it's completely understandable since I'm dry and get dry throughout the day. Not for me
I have been able to test this concealer from Nars for a few weeks now… and unfortunately, this is not for me. I would say my skin is quite normal and I very rarely have issues with products not working for me. To start with, I prefer concealers that come in a "tube" with an applicator, I find it easier to use than when it comes like this in a jar. When it comes to the product itself, it is thick in consistency, which means it covers well and can give a nice highlighter effect under the eyes. BUT I can't get it to work under my eyes, it settles directly into the fine lines (which they also claim shouldn't happen) and I look super dry and cakey. However, I think it works well on other areas. Like on the forehead, for example. I have tested applying it both with a brush, sponge, and my fingers. The absolute best result is with my fingers, but I don't like applying product with my fingers and getting sticky, so I gladly let that be 😅 Showing results with a close-up of how it looks under my eyes after application. So to summarize: not for my skin. It gets dry and cakey under the eyes but works well on other areas! It gives a nice coverage when it works well. Wonderful creamy but not for me!
I have tested this concealer from NARS for a few weeks and no matter how much I want to like it, it really doesn't suit me. I am 33 years old with some signs of aging that are creeping in all the time. It’s the ultimate test to also try a concealer when you are most stressed in December and sleeping the least, bags under the eyes are there to say! I am currently normal to oily in skin, not at all dry (which I think it suits better for). This concealer is heeelt wonderfully creamy in its consistency and I can really imagine that for some it is 5/5, it really melts into the skin. For me, however, it’s completely wrong, it’s TOO creamy which makes it not really adhere. I have tried applying both with a brush, sponge, and finger and for me, it’s only the finger that works. This creases very easily on me in the lines, I have to set it with very little powder otherwise it gets cakey. It really requires precision to get it to sit nicely. I also can’t build up more coverage without it creasing! I also think it has zero coverage and since I can’t build layers without it getting cakey, it doesn’t do much for me, as I like full cover makeup. However, in the summer, I might have liked it more when I want a bit lighter makeup. I have been so lucky to receive NARS' Soft Matte Complete Concealer as #lykoinflutester. My name is Kristine, I am 35 years old and I love everything related to beauty and makeup. Over many years, I have tested an incredible number of products from different brands. And guess how happy I was when I saw that I would be testing this concealer from NARS this month! It is indeed a concealer I have had in my collection for many years - BUT I have only had it in the lightest shade “Chantilly”. Something that has been a bit silly on the days I have self-tanner (which is quite often!) This is indeed the BEST “spot-concealer” that exists on the market in my eyes 🥹👏🏻 I always spot-conceal right after skincare and before foundation. I take a small amount of concealer on a small precise makeup brush and apply it to pimples and blemishes on my face that are not covered by all types of foundation. Then I blend it out with my finger for an even application. When I put on foundation, no redness or color shows through! ❤️ The consistency of this is on the thicker side and provides full coverage. Therefore, I think it is best suited for spot-concealing. But if you warm it up between your fingers, it becomes a bit thinner and easier to work with - so you can also apply it under the eyes. But not much, a thin layer - otherwise, there will be a lot of creasing. But I personally prefer to use the liquid concealer from NARS (Radiant Creamy Concealer) under the eyes ☺️ It sits nicely both under and on top of all types of foundations I have tested. In the video, I use the concealer together with NARS' Light Reflecting Foundation - which is a big favorite here. It does not feel thick or heavy on the skin. And I really love the result this concealer gives. I also really like that it contains ingredients like Vitamin A, C, and E and hyaluronic acid and peptides that nourish the skin, especially since I usually apply it on blemishes 💦 Really a concealer that everyone struggling with pigmentation, redness, and blemishes should have in their collection. I’ve had the opportunity to test several products from #NARS on behalf of #lykoinflutester. ✨ This is really a product I appreciate, and it’s easy to understand why it’s a bestseller. It goes on nicely on the skin and lasts all day, which I value highly. Sure — I can imagine that a slightly darker shade would suit me better, but for now, it works just fine during the winter. Powerful little jar!
MY SKIN: I am 32, have mild rosacea, a somewhat dry skin type, and have very blue circles under my eyes. RATING: I am impressed with this concealer, so much that I now prefer to reach for this over my old favorite from Tarte. If you take too much, it can easily get cakey, but that makes it very powerful. I really have nothing bad to say about it at all, it would just be the price and that the consistency isn't liquid enough. But make sure to build it up, and it will be good! ⭐️ ROUTINE: Just have to recommend the perfect combination of products to beautifully conceal dark circles under the eyes! 👀 1. Start by dabbing #smashbox under eye brightening corrector with your finger. 2. Dab on #nars concealer, also with your finger. A little goes a long way, and using your finger gives you more control. 3. Spray a little of #lykos own “On the glow” setting spray to make it blend in seamlessly. Once you start with this step, there’s no going back! 🤭 NOTE! In the pictures, I have only used Nars concealer on the right side of the picture! I haven't used Smashbox underneath, as I, being #lykoinflutester, want to give an honest assessment. However, I have tested both with and without, and both work! Full coverage and little goes a long way, but not for everyone
I tried this concealer 3 times with foundation on and without. I can say that it looks nice both, when you have bare face to cover blue in your under eyes. It also works fine with foundation and creates some highlighting under eye effect. Personally, i prefer to use more liquid formulas as my concealers, simply because then you can control application better, but i liked how this concealer stayed in my brush so i can use it for eye make up correction later as a last step. So concluding, i can say that its a good and high coverage concealer, but its too difficult to work with it for daily life make up or if you are new to make up. Okay, but too dry for my skin
I was so lucky to receive 3 products from #nars to test as #lykoinflutester 😍 I am really bad at using makeup as I haven't found any products that do what my skin needs, so I was very excited here 🤭 I have very problematic skin, large pores, a lot of dry areas but also oily, blemished skin and scars.. I need something that covers but doesn't settle into the pores so it looks uneven and dry. And also that doesn't make me get more blemished skin than I have, and I feel that is very difficult 🫤 Unfortunately, this concealer didn't work for my skin even though it seemed very good! When I first tested it on my hand, it felt very soft and good, but I noticed that it quickly became too dry and visible on my skin. I tried with both brush and sponge, but neither made the product any better. It didn't cover very well either, and I tried to build it up with more product, but still the redness etc. was visible through it.. I always do my skincare routine before I put on makeup, so I have both moisturizer etc. on my skin. I also had a pore minimizer on, but still the concealer didn't do much for me. Looked okay from a distance, but up close you could see that the product settled in the pores, and throughout the day I saw that the product had settled into all the lines. Probably works better if you don't have dry skin
I had the opportunity to test this concealer from NARS. I have the shade Chantilly, which has a slightly more yellow tone on me, which was exactly what I wanted. It has medium to high coverage, which is also what I want to cover, for example, my pimples. What I also like is that it is matte, but I don't know if that's what makes it too dry on my skin. I have sensitive, dry skin, and as you can see in the picture, it looks like it "flakes" around the pimples. Which makes me look even drier. I think this works better for me in places where I want to brighten rather than just cover. Which means this isn't a concealer I can use for everything. I've tried warming it up before application, tried applying with both a brush and my fingers, but unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. This concealer surprised me! I usually prefer more liquid concealer, so I was excited to test this out🌼 It has impressive coverage without looking heavy, and when I warm it up in my palm first, it blends into the skin like a dream. I buff it in with a small brush before I lightly go over it with my finger, and the result is so nice and seamless. I have a bit of dry skin around my eyes now in the winter, and if I use too much, it can settle a bit in lines, but with the right amount and a little skincare underneath, it stays in place🫶🏽 You need extremely little product, so this jar lasts a long time. And as always: NARS' iconic matte packaging makes it so pretty in the makeup bag that it almost feels like a little design object. ✨ Lower the price a bit, and that it takes a little time to work in. Brightens under the eyes!
I’ve been so lucky to test Nars’ concealer in the shade Vanilla, and I’ve been trying it for a little while now. I have very fair skin, and this matched perfectly in color and has a neutral undertone! The consistency is quite thick, which means you need very little product at a time. It’s a bit unusual for me to use concealer in a jar, which might be a bit more cumbersome than with an applicator, but it works fine. I liked best to first dab a little product on the skin with my finger before I worked it in with a brush. The result might have been even better with a beauty blender, but I don’t use that so often in my daily routine. What I really LOVE is how it brightens under the eyes and effectively hides dark circles. The result looks fresh and awake without becoming cakey. I’ve tried to show the brightening effect in the video. The price is a bit high for a concealer, but I think it delivers on what it promises, and the finish holds up nicely throughout the day. Soft Matte Complete Concealer Nougatine
I got to test the shade Nougatine, which I thought was a good match!! Since I usually dab concealer with my fingers, I found the packaging easy to work with. The concealer is creamy & is supposed to provide good coverage, which I agree with, it covers redness without needing particularly much product. Unfortunately, the product tends to settle & become a bit cakey in the fine lines under my eye. However, I find that it works much better to apply the product just under the "bags" to brighten up, and then I don’t experience it becoming so cakey. It works for me, but of course, it varies. I do like how creamy & easy the concealer is to work with, and I still think it predominantly does what it’s supposed to.
