The most important product in the bathroom cabinet

I literally use this for everything: Scalp scrub once a week; Removes product buildup, hair becomes shinier and less oily. Apply to the entire scalp, let it sit after a light massage for 10-15 minutes, and double cleanse with shampoo. For armpits and groin 2 times a week after showering; Removes bacteria that cause sweat odor. As needed every couple of weeks as a gentle scrub for the face like a toner; Helps especially with oily skin and small breakouts. After shaving (not on the same day, otherwise it stings); Removes and prevents ingrown hairs. Treatment for keratosis pilaris on the forearms; Apply to the skin of the forearms 1-2 times a week after showering, wait 15 minutes, and apply cream or oil on top. Foot scrub; 2-3 times a week after showering, apply to the soles of the feet. Let it sit for 15 minutes and apply foot cream and put on socks.

Nice to hear that the review was helpful! I always apply it to my skin through my hands, so I take about a tablespoon of toner in my hand and then just slather it on my forearms. It's good to let it dry and work for a moment before applying oil, and it shouldn't be washed off. As body oil, I use Weleda's rose oil, but any oil or cream works! For the groin area, I do the same, using a slightly smaller amount (teaspoon) on my hands and just applying it to the edge of my underwear. I don't use any other deodorants. This has especially been a convenient way to stay fresh during the summer. Let's really hope this product is never discontinued. 😆

    Hello,

The product name and photo don't match. It's showing the wrong picture. Both are sold as two different product by Ordinary brand. See the pictures attached. Misleading information shown by Lyko

Hello there Namisha 🤗👋 It's "the same old product" but with a new name 🥰 Apologies if that was confusing.

    Combine with salicylic acid

Hi, I'm considering buying salicylic acid from the same brand. Can they be combined since they are recommended to be used in the evening.

Hey Sofia! Of course you can use both salicylic acid and glycolic acid, but it's best to alternate between them and use them on different days to pamper your skin without stressing it! Remember to moisturize properly and use sunscreen during the day, your skin will thank you with a lovely glow! Take care!

    Same as toner solution?

Hi! Can this product be used in the same way as The Ordinary's toner solution when applied to the armpits?

Hey Cecilia This is the same toner that was previously called Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution from The Ordinary and works perfectly to use in the same way as before since the formula hasn't changed All the best! ✨

    Toner

Can you use a toner after you've used it on your face, or does it already work as a toner? 🤔🤩💖

Hey Kikki! This product already works as a toner, as it balances the skin's pH and gently exfoliates thanks to the glycolic acid. Therefore, you don't need to use another toner afterwards If you still want to use a toner, it's recommended to choose a mild, hydrating toner that doesn't contain active acids, as it can be too strong to combine with glycolic acid Good luck! ✨

    Pores?

Hey! I wanted to ask if this removes blackheads too, because my boyfriend has them and he wants me to look for products that can remove them, or if you can recommend a good product that isn't too expensive!

    Did it work for you?

I've heard a lot about it removing dark spots and more, but I didn't notice anything after using it for a long time, maybe it wasn't for me but works better for others! But I feel like it didn't deserve the hype #lykorview #theordinary

Heihei Glycolic acid exfoliates the skin and helps to even out skin tone and pigmentation. It is important to be extra careful with UV protection while using products with acids, as these make the skin more sensitive to UV and HEV light - and thus more prone to new pigmentation Depending on how often you use it in relation to the skin's tolerance, it can take up to 2 months before you see an effect on pigmentation spots Wishing you a super nice day!

Now you’re contradicting yourselves! 😁 In the product description on this website, it specifically states that the product can be applied to dry scalp three times a week.

Description
Ingredients

Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner (previously Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution) is an exfoliator that significantly smoothes skin texture and promotes the appearance of a more even skin tone, as well as more luminous skin, with regular use. It also reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The water-based toner format is suited to daily use.

It contains a 7% concentration of Glycolic acid - a well-studied alpha-hydroxy acid - and a plant-derived Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, which varies in colour seasonally, and which may cause an apparent colour variation in the formula from time to time.

This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Please refer to the additional sun protection notes and other warnings in the provided directions.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa describes the acidity of a molecule. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximizing effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation.

Use:
Face/Neck Application: Apply once daily, ideally in the evening. Apply to the face and neck using a cotton pad or fingers.
Scalp Application: Apply to dry scalp, three times a week. Tilt your head back and use the nozzle to gently dispense product from the front to the back of the head in a sweeping motion. Massage well.
Do not rinse off. Do not use on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes.
Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.
If eye or skin irritation occurs, rinse thoroughly, cease use, and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised. Keep out of reach of children.
Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
