    So good

I've been using this cleanser for several years and it's amazing! I have sensitive skin that is prone to eczema, and this is the only cleanser that has worked for me that doesn't dry out my skin or make it oily. Super good!

Love it! Not just like — love!

It took me a while to understand how to use it. But when I realized I had to massage it into my face until it changed consistency, everything got so much better. I always, always go back to this cleanser. Even though it’s super fun to try new products, none really quite measure up to this one. I’ve never had skin as nice as when I’m good at using this consistently. When I cleanse my face, I can literally feel it pulling out blackheads and other impurities from the skin as I massage around my face — and that’s exactly what I never experience with any other cleanser. 🙀 ✨ How to use it: ✨ 💗 Experiment to find the right amount depending on how much makeup you have on your skin. Spread the product in dry hands before applying it all over your face, also dry. Start in the middle, at the nose, and work outward. Massage until you find a spot on your skin where the cleanser suddenly glides off, going from a bit grainy to completely smooth and like a thin oil. 💗 Once you have that same oily consistency all over your face, take the time you feel you need. This is the phase where the product works best. Cleanse your face until you’re satisfied you’ve removed everything. Don’t forget behind your ears, under your nose and down your neck, and places where you apply contour and powder, which aren’t necessarily in the middle of your face. 💗 Don’t be too impatient — I get that it’s boring to stand and massage your face and get tired of it. But spend a few minutes on each area of your face. That way you get a proper cleanse. Rinse off and enjoy 🥰, then continue with toner and the rest of your skincare routine. ⚠️ Step 1: Apply product over and under your eyelashes. Let the product sit there and "melt" mascara and eye makeup gently. Not soft enough yet? Move on and check later. When the lashes are soft enough, you can gently massage the eye makeup away from there too. ⚠️⚠️ When I have medium or heavy makeup on, I usually have The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser by the sink next to me. I use it as cleansing step number 2. I always have a towel between my legs when I wash my face (easy access 😅) if I need to dry my hands or something along the way. Then I rinse off the squalane cleanser and go straight to the glucoside cleanser since my face is already wet. I wash my face with it, and the last bits of makeup, dirt, and grime from a whole day in your life disappear. 💗🥰 I hope those of you who have had negative experiences with this product will try it again, just this way. I think you’ll experience a totally different product than before! 💗🌸🫂

Thought for a long time this was a bad buy, but...

...what a super cleanser! After understanding how I was actually supposed to use the cleanser, it has worked perfectly! Before, I just mixed it with water and slathered it on my skin, and I felt like it just sat as a film on top of the skin. I have dry and sensitive skin and use products with lots of plant oils. Therefore, I struggle with pores "clogging" on my nose and chin, causing many blackheads and flaky skin, which I end up over-exfoliating, making the skin produce even more (vicious circle). But this cleanser removes heavy products and lets the skin breathe (if I use it correctly). In the evening: I mix the cleanser in dry hands and apply it to a completely dry face. I gently massage the product into the skin, spending more time on the T-zone. After a short while, the cleanser becomes very thin (feels almost like water), and it seems like all the oil in the skin "releases" and the skin feels clean. I spend about 1 minute working the cleanser well into the skin. Then I rinse everything off with lukewarm water and apply serum/night cream. The only downside is that it doesn't remove eye makeup very well. Then I just go over with a mild micellar water containing hyaluronic acid. I don't always use this cleanser in the morning. I feel like the skin still feels "clean" when I wake up, and I find that it takes a bit of time before it works as it should (I don't have time to use it properly). So it's enough to rinse the face with water or go over with micellar water before serum and day cream.

    Love it, used for years!

Been using this since I dropped the wipes, soft and lovely to remove makeup with. Not too bad if it slips into the eyes, and leaves the skin soft and nice!

    Works but not the best

This is absolutely no bad cleanser, but I find that it needs to be followed up with a water-based cleanser for my skin to feel really clean (my skin is combination with oily t-zone and dry areas). However, this one is very good at "lifting" dirt out of the pores, so in a double cleanse routine it works perfectly. I do find that they run out quickly, and in relation to the price, it's not really worth it for me. To use less product, you can warm it up properly in your hands first, then it lasts longer.

    Simple and effective

I have used up the entire package and can say that it is both simple and effective at removing makeup. The skin feels very clean and fresh afterwards.

    Delicate Power of Cleansing

This product is minimalism at its best. The cleansing emulsion from The Ordinary surprised me with its effectiveness, despite its very simple formula – or maybe precisely because of it! Squalane Cleanser is a product with a pleasant, creamy-oily consistency that transforms into a velvety emulsion when rubbed in the hands. I used it as the first step in makeup removal (it works great!) and as a gentle face wash in the morning or evening – and in both roles, it performs very well. The biggest pros? + Effectively dissolves makeup, SPF filters, and impurities, + Does not dry out the skin, + Does not leave a greasy layer, but also does not give a feeling of tightness – the skin feels clean, but soft and comfortable after use. Thanks to the squalane content, the emulsion has moisturizing and soothing properties – ideal for dry, sensitive, and dehydrated skin. And it doesn’t clog pores or cause irritation, which was crucial for me. It has no scent, which may be a plus for some and a minus for others – but thanks to this, it works even on the most demanding skin. 💛 This is one of my favorite cleansers ever! I return to it regularly because I know I can always rely on it – regardless of skin condition or season. #lykoreview #lykocommunity

    Love

I love this cleanser! It's the first oil-based cleanser I've used that doesn't give me breakouts. I have combination skin, so I use a water-based cleanser afterwards to avoid oily skin. It loses points for the price in relation to how long it lasts.
