I got to try this leave-in conditioner from #redken. (My #lykoinflutester reviews are as honest as the reviews I write about products I’ve paid for.) This is the leave-in conditioner from Redken’s popular bond building product line. My experience: The scent is very masculine and lasts a long time.. I don’t like smelling like that, so that’s a big minus. But if you look past the scent, it’s a good, creamy leave-in conditioner that also protects hair during blow-drying (if you’re going to straighten or curl your hair, you probably need a separate heat protectant). The silicones make the hair soft, easy to comb, and make the hair look healthy and shiny. Is it worth your money? Meh.. more worth it than the shampoo, but expensive. You can find better, cheaper alternatives. L’Oréal’s bond building line is cheaper.. they have the same owner and similar ingredient lists. But if you really want to try something from Redken’s bond building line, I think it’s enough with either the pre-shampoo treatment, the conditioner, or the leave-in conditioner. I don’t know if there’s any research behind this hype about pH value in hair and scalp, or if it’s just another marketing gimmick.. But I was looking forward to trying the products anyway. My experience: The scent is very masculine and lasts a long time.. not liked. Apart from that, it’s a good conditioner. The hair becomes soft, easy to comb, and shiny thanks to the silicones. It gives the hair a lovely feel, but it probably won’t magically repair damage. I actually like the conditioner and the leave-in cream if you ignore the scent. Don’t expect miracles though. Is it worth the money? Meh.. It’s more worth it than the shampoo at least. However, I’m convinced you can find at least equally good conditioners for cheaper prices. I’m not really sure if such a shampoo is necessary... some say yes, others say no. The idea behind it is probably to restore the pH balance in the scalp and remove build-ups and such. But I think a regular, cheaper shampoo with sulfates does at least as good a job as this shampoo (if not better). My experience: The scent is very masculine, strong, and lasts loooong... I don’t like it. The shampoo cleaned my scalp okay, but it irritated my scalp quite quickly (see picture), so I have to stop using it now and give it away to someone who wants it. Is it worth your money? No, I don’t think so. I think it’s better to go for their pre-shampoo treatment instead if you want to try something from this product line. The conditioner and leave-in cream are also decent products if you ignore the scent. But don’t expect miracles... hair care is not a “fix all,” not even bond builders. I would probably say the shampoo is the most unnecessary and worst from this product line. A cheaper bond building alternative is L’Oréal’s bond building series.
