    How active is it?

I have used The Ordinary AHA 30% 2B BHA 2% Peeling Solution 30 ml in the fall, but I have started to struggle more with acne, especially outside the T-zone. I am unsure if the breakouts are due to the formula being too strong for my skin, or if it has to do with the fact that I recently stopped taking the birth control pills I have been on for over five years. Either way, I want to adjust my routine to focus more on preventing breakouts. So I was wondering if this is as strong for the skin as the one from The Ordinary? My skincare routine consists of The Ordinary once a week, and daily I use Camilla Pihl Cosmetics Mb Cleansing Gel and CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion (or Avne Cicalfate2B Repairing Proective Cream, I use them a bit interchangeably). Do you have suggestions on how I can improve my routine?

Hi, and thank you for sharing so thoroughly! It makes it much easier to give tailored advice 🌿 The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a very potent product, and for many, it can become too strong with regular use, especially if the skin is undergoing hormonal changes at the same time. It is therefore quite possible that the breakouts you are experiencing are due to a combination of stopping birth control pills and the skin getting more exfoliation than it can currently handle. Acne outside the T-zone is often seen in connection with hormonal changes. The serum from LRP contains lower concentrations of active acids and is formulated for regular use without posing the same risk of irritation or over-exfoliation. For skin that is more reactive or imbalanced, this is usually a safer choice. Looking at your routine otherwise, it is basically simple and nice, but I would suggest some adjustments to prevent breakouts while also strengthening the skin barrier: Consider taking a break from The Ordinary peeling for 3–4 weeks, or further reduce usage. You might switch to a milder exfoliation 1–2 times a week, preferably with salicylic acid in low concentration, which is more targeted towards acne. Continue with a gentle cleanser morning and night, as you are doing now. CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion is a good choice for daily use. Avène Cicalfate+ can be beneficial when needed, but may be a bit heavy for some with a tendency to clogging. If you are not already using sun protection during the day, I would strongly recommend adding it, especially if you are using acids in your routine 🙌 Wishing you a nice day ahead 💓

    Suitable for me?

Hi, I use Effaclar cleansing gel "+m" and Effaclar duo"+m" to cleanse, moisturize, and repair my skin morning and night. I still have blemishes and pimples, and I'm wondering if I should start using this serum in addition. If so, when should I apply it, how often, and can it be combined with the Effaclar products I mentioned above?

Hey Francis! 🌞👋 Of course I can help you with that! The Effaclar Ultra Concentrated Serum can definitely be combined with both the Effaclar cleanser and the Effaclar DUO+M. Here’s how you can incorporate it into your routine: Evening: cleanser → serum → DUO+M. Start gently: every other evening (2–3 evenings/week), and gradually increase if your skin tolerates it. Avoid the eye area; if your skin feels tight or irritated, reduce the frequency. Day: remember to use sun protection (at least SPF 15) since the serum contains AHA/BHA, which makes the skin more sensitive to light.

    The Best!

The best for my skin and for many people around me as well. Effective, doesn't give a feeling of heaviness. Works in every situation, and with regular use, it really prevents breakouts. But also as a last-minute help when you feel like something is about to pop up on your face. In stressful jobs, breakouts unfortunately also happen to people 30+.

    Skincare routine?

Hey, I've been wondering for a while how I should have my skincare routine. Before, I had a lot of acids and retinol together on my face, but I noticed that it just became damaged and irritated, so I stopped everything. Aside from cleanser and moisturizer, I now only have a cleanser for pimples from corsrx and their snail all in one cream. I tend to have acne and have quite sensitive skin with some redness, etc. But now I've noticed that I'm getting more pimples, small red bumps, and irritated skin. So I feel like I need to add something to my skincare routine. Would this serum fit in or something else?

Hey Herman✨ Yes, just as you write, one can easily get a disrupted skin barrier from combining several active ingredients, and that leads to sensitivity and irritation. So great that you have changed your routine for the better now. I would primarily recommend you to take our lovely skin test here: lyko.com/sv/beauty-scan/hudtestet so that we can put together a tailored routine for you based on the overall condition of your skin and your skin's specific needs 🙌🏽 Hope we can help you further there and that you have a really nice day🌞

    Introducing pimples

Bought for a pre-teen boy to keep his skin clean and pimple-free, works well, and if a small pimple is coming, this takes it away pretty well! We also bought a face wash and cream, all designed to fight against unclean skin Works 👍🏻

    Effaclar H

Hi, I have the cleanser of Effaclar H + its cream. May I know if this serum is a good combination with them? I had an oily acne face but due to the weather, my face became dry. However, after a week using these Effaclar H products, my skin became oily again, however, I have a breakout. I would like now to focus on my acne.

Hello Anisa 👋😊 How exciting you are looking for some new products! Since these products can be quite drying and skin with Acne can be sensitive I would recommend you to send our skin therapists an e-mail at fraga@lyko.se with some more information about which specific products you use as well as a picture of your skin 📸 Good luck! 💖

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Ultra Concentrated Serum is an effective serum that reduces zits. Formulated for oily and impure skin prone to acne. The formula is charged with active ingredients, including niacinamide and a complex of LHA acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid that unclogs pores, activates the skin renewal process, and targets persevering impurities. The skin surface becomes more even, smoother, and feels fresh.

This ultra-concentrated face serum has a lightweight formula that is quickly absorbed by your skin. Apply a few drops onto cleansed face and neck in the evening. Avoid the eye area – in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water. The serum makes skin more sensitive to sunlight, always combine with a day cream with SPF15+ for daytime use. In case of skin discomfort, use less frequently.
