Wonderful alternative to conventional retinol!
The anti-aging effect in this "Retinol Alternative" series is said to come from birch sap and the plant needlewort🌱 (Bidens Pilosa), which like bakuchiol is a good plant-based alternative to retinol for those of us who are not ideal retinol candidates😉 I am now on my third bottle of Latvian Mádara's organic retinol-repairing serum and I absolutely love both the creamy consistency that is a dream for my dry, thin, sensitive porcelain skin and the lightly sweet scent! Retinol takes ages before you see results, the same goes for the plant-based alternatives, so I think I will give this serum 6 months to really see the effect😊, but it feels immediately very moisturizing. - My 55-year-old skin is unusually smooth and free from signs of aging, but a little is starting to creep in, as a result of not always having used sunscreen in my younger days😉 However, I have rarely sunbathed actively, never smoked, and have taken good care of my skin since I was 16, so the + lucky genes have probably contributed to the result! - The serum is like a light cream and I use it mainly in the evening, before night cream and oil, but it works just as well to use during the day since it does NOT make the skin more sun-sensitive (which regular retinol does)! Since it is quite expensive, I have settled for evening use and apply it all over my face, on my neck and décolletage. I have also just started using the eye serum in the same series, also in the evening, before a thicker eye cream. Super nice as well! The series is supposed to suit all skin types, but I guess it is best for those of us with dry skin who completely soak up both moisture💦 and oil😀 Mádara is organic🌱 cruelty-free🐁🐇 and made in Latvia. They are also very socially engaged👍 Giving the serum 5 shining stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #lykoreviewTranslated from swedish

Misclassified
How come this serum is not listed under Mádara's facial products?Translated from swedish
2 likes484 views- 5 monthsYes, of course I do that, but unfortunately it doesn't show up either on the website or in the app, very strange. I clear the search history every day so that's not it, I download a new app when the phone says there is one, before that there is no idea.

New favorite
Madaras retinol serum ticks all the boxes for me, for a perfect retinol serum. Madara is a Latvian brand and I have a preference for the locally sourced, the Nordic, and the smaller businesses over the large international ones. Madara also aims to do something. I recommend those interested in such to visit their website. There you can read that Madara contributes to women and children who are exposed to violence in close relationships and trafficking, receiving a cash contribution for a psychologist. They also contribute to supporting those affected by breast cancer. So good! Otherwise, I can read that Madara has a strong focus on its ingredients, on the environment, and decent wages for its workers. So! I am impressed! But to the serum itself. The packaging is delicate. The serum smells good. It feels good on and absorbs quickly into the skin, maybe in 2 to 5 minutes. The serum is not among the cheapest, but you don’t need much product, so it will last a long time. I have mature skin, which is both dry and oily. My skin is also a bit sensitive. Now I have been using retinol for a decade, so I tolerate it well. But I suspect this one is mild enough for those who are not as experienced as well. It’s just about trying it out carefully. There’s nothing not to like. This is now my new retinol serum. I will take a closer look at Madara’s other products as well. Looking forward to it!Translated from norwegian

Okay but not more
I got this in Lyko Lovables Hello first class. I have used many different serums over the years and I thought this was just okay, but nothing revolutionary in any way 😜 For the price it’s sold for, I don’t think it’s worth it, there are budget alternatives that are at least as good. Very gentle just like it says in the description and a plus for the scent that I liked a lot, mild and fresh. #LykoreviewTranslated from swedish
14 likes610 views- 7 monthsIt's fun to read what you thought! I also got a tube of this in a box and loved it, and I will definitely buy the full size when I can afford it! I think that just like with retinol, it takes time before you see any results with bakuchiol, and since it is so nice and gentle, my dry skin likes it, which means a lot to me (though that doesn't mean it couldn't be cheaper, but Mádara is not a budget organic brand, directly. However, it tends to be very good, so I have to be satisfied with that).2 likes
