STRENGTHENING, SOOTHING, AND LOTS OF MOISTURE!
As a #LYKOINFLUTESTER, I had the honor of testing this Toner/Essence from #THEORDINARY. A product for all skin types and ages. 🧴 MY SKIN TYPE I have a normal-dry skin type that can easily become clogged with too oily products, for example. I have some enlarged pores on my cheeks and nose. When exposed to too many strong fragrances, my skin can react and become red and inflamed. I have some pale scars from acne on one cheek and finally some fine lines (32 years old). 🧴 SCENT/TEXTURE Scent: Hmm.. Faint faint scent of like, mushroom? Hard to describe scent, but a scent that disappears quickly after application (one doesn’t need to be afraid of smelling like mushrooms 🍄) haha! However, no “damp” mushroom scent, smells more like fresh mushrooms. Texture/Consistency: Light but still a bit milky/gel feel. Not as light as water, but also not as thick as a gel. A perfect blend between toner/essence. 🧴 RESULTS A toner to love! Very nice for the skin morning and night. Incredibly moisturizing despite the light formula. I usually pat this in two “layers” in the evening before serum, in the morning the skin is hydrated, plump, and has a beautiful healthy glow. I skip the morning wash (of the face) due to dry skin right now and pat this in one layer, then my serum. My skin feels hydrated the entire day, until it’s time for the evening routine. Usually, I feel dry in the afternoon, but with The Ordinary’s toner, my skin is balanced all day! An extra plus is that it hasn’t triggered my acne during the testing period, rather the opposite. Not a single pimple, my skin feels calm for once. 🧴 PLUS + The texture/consistency is a mix between water/gel. Gives a “milky” feel. + Absorbs incredibly well into the skin. + I feel hydrated ALL day. + Doesn’t require much product for the face. + Wake up every morning with plump and hydrated skin. + It hasn’t triggered my acne. + I experience my skin as more balanced and “calm”. 🧴 MINUS - The only “negative” about this toner is the glass bottle. Unfortunately, I’ve heard from many that the bottle was delivered broken. However, I haven’t had any problems with it myself. BUT, glass is generally more shock-sensitive.Translated from swedish

Did not work for me
As a #lykoinflutester, I got to test #theordinary's essence. After a dead month of testing, I unfortunately find that this was not a product for me. My skin is combination to dry. It is not sensitive. The bottle itself has a sleek expression, and it is made of glass, which gives an impression of being a bit exclusive. The product is runny like water, and the pouring mechanism adjusts the amount you get out somewhat, but I think a lot of product is wasted when applying. After using this for a week (applied before serum and cream), I felt my skin seemed stiff and a bit dry from the water. It sat on my skin like a mask, and I did not experience that it provided the nourishing and moisturizing effect that several others rave about here, unfortunately. As a #LYKOINFLUTESTER, I had the honor of testing products from #THEORDINARY 😍 One of the products is The Ordinary Multi-Active Delivery Essence. My skin type is combination - according to my experience. I have used the toner both morning and night and experienced an incredibly moisturizing effect. It didn't take much product, it absorbed into the skin quite quickly, and the texture was not too oily but not too thick either. Incredibly easy to use, in my opinion. The scent is incredibly mild and faint - I can't quite put my finger on the scent, but it's incredibly mild. The glass bottle was a surprise and feels very nice in itself. Magical essence that perfectly prepares the skin – wow what a difference!
A little brief info about me & my skin: I am 31 years old with what is commonly referred to as “fine combination skin.” This means I have small pores and skin that is quite even, but I also have some blackheads, a shiny nose and chin, the occasional pimple, and also signs of surface dryness – especially when the weather changes. The skin is mostly normal on the cheeks, but can feel tight sometimes after cleansing. I have also started to notice some small superficial lines, especially on my forehead. Essences have never been a given part of my routine before, but now I really understand why it has become so popular – this step has made a big difference in how the skin receives the rest of my skincare. Consistency & scent: The Multi-Active Delivery Essence has an incredibly light and silky consistency. It’s almost like a thin gel/water hybrid – featherlight and very pleasant to pat into the skin. I pour a few drops into my palm and press it into my face right after cleansing, before serum. It absorbs quickly but leaves a discreet hydrated feeling, without becoming sticky or greasy. The scent is very mild and neutral, with a slight “skincare” tone – nothing that disturbs or irritates, so it feels great even for those of us who are sensitive to scents. Packaging: The essence comes in a sturdy, frosted glass bottle – simple but luxurious in its design. It lacks a pump, so I carefully pour it directly into my hand. It feels like a product that lasts a long time, as only a few drops are needed for the entire face. Here’s how I use it: I have used it every day, morning and evening, as the first step after cleansing – before the other two products I have tested from The Ordinary (Multi-Peptide + HA Serum and GF Solution 15%). It acts as a preparatory layer that helps the rest of the skincare absorb better, and I have really noticed a difference! Experience & results: Already after the first application, the skin felt less tight and more “plump.” It provides immediate hydration that feels natural, not greasy – and the skin gets a beautiful glow without shining unnecessarily much. What I really appreciate is that it strengthens the skin barrier without feeling heavy. After a few days, I noticed that the skin was less reactive after cleansing (I usually easily get a red nose/cheeks right after showering) and that the dry feeling decreased significantly. It felt like the skin became better at receiving serum and cream – and according to information from The Ordinary, it actually helps with just that, by increasing the absorption of subsequent products. So cool! I have also tested it together with other active ingredients (including Niacinamide, Prebiotics, Retinol, etc.) and experienced no reactions – just even more effect. The skin felt clearer and more balanced, which I truly believe is thanks to how it helps deliver active ingredients deeper. What it does for my skin type: As someone with combination skin, it’s always a challenge to find products that hydrate without clogging. This essence manages to balance that act – it hydrates my dry areas while the skin feels more controlled in the shiny zones. It works quietly but gives noticeable results: smoother, softer, calmer skin that stays nice all day. Conclusion: This has become an indispensable step in my routine. This essence works as a perfect “soft start” for the skin – hydrates immediately, prepares the skin for subsequent products, and also helps improve their effects. A booster for skincare!
My skin: 30 years, very dry, matte, not sensitive I have used this morning and night before my two serums from The Ordinary, and I really like the feeling that it primes the skin for better absorption of skincare products. Glycerin binds moisture and makes the skin more elastic, and propandiol helps active ingredients penetrate deeper. It gives me extra motivation to use the product consistently since I use active serums afterward. I can't say I notice much of the moisturizing effect, nor any glow or soft face, but I get that from other products in my routine, so I've come to terms with it being a primer and really like it as such. The product is watery in texture, which makes it a bit more cumbersome to apply than if it were thicker - especially since you have to be careful that it doesn't come into contact with the eyes. The thing I like the least is the bottle: there is no pump, and the product flows out very slowly while suddenly a lot can come out, which is a bit stressful. It's also not so chill with a glass bottle, since it can break and is heavy to carry. Otherwise, the product has no scent, and it's only positive to skip perfume on the face. Moisturizing and Radiance-Boosting Toner
As a #LYKOINFLUTESTER, I have tested 3 skincare products from #THEORDINARY, and this toner is one of those products. A little brief info about me & my skin| Age: 30 years. Occasionally sensitive and can easily become red from time to time (which usually goes away quickly), combination skin type, so both dry but can also become slightly oily in the T-zone. Right at the start of the test, I had reacted to some product and had some stress breakouts as well. This toner has been wonderful to use as a start after washing my face, feels immediately strengthening, has been gentle on my skin, gives radiance, and I feel wonderfully moisturized✨ Consistency| Watery like a toner usually is, and I have chosen to use it on a cotton pad morning and night for about 4 weeks. Scent| Natural, nothing strong or unpleasant, so I would say it also suits those sensitive to scents👌 Packaging| Glass bottle (frosted glass) feels very luxurious for being a "budget alternative" with simple and sleek design. 100ml, which is a quite reasonable size even though I would have preferred it to be 200ml, as I have noticed during use that the product has been going down. Gives lots of moisture to the skin
I have tested The Ordinary Multi-Active Delivery Essence for a few weeks and really like it! The essence has a watery consistency that quickly absorbs into the skin, leaving it fresh and hydrated. I have applied the essence with my hands to avoid cotton pads soaking up too much of the product. The product is supposed to help active ingredients penetrate better into the skin, but I find it hard to say if I notice any more difference than just hydration after such a short testing time. Good support for skin care
This essence is quite good — I wouldn’t call it a game-changer, but it definitely has its benefits. I like how easy it is to use, and it works well as a prep step before applying my serum. Nice product
As a Lykoinfluencer, I have had the opportunity to test products from The Ordinary. For me, these are new products to use, which is always fun. I usually have a bit of combination skin. It is dry in some areas and a bit oilier on the forehead and nose. Now during the spring, the skin is of course affected, and the oilier areas can feel a bit extra oily when you are in the sun and get warm. First up to test was the Multi-Active Delivery Essence. I didn’t find that it had any special scent, but was very neutral. It felt fresh when I used it, and it left no weird film after use. I used it on a cotton pad, which I found convenient. It comes in a nice packaging, glass, and the dosing of the product worked well. The product itself is not directly watery and not sticky either, but a good in-between, just as a toner/essence should be. I find it to be a product that suits both more advanced morning/evening routines and the simplest routines (suitable for us a bit more morning-tired). I have had the pleasure of testing products like #lykoinflutester from #theordinary for a month. I have tested a total of 3 products, including this Multi-Active Delivery Essence. For reference, I have combination skin – quite normal, but I need a lot of moisture and can get a bit oily in the T-zone. I also have some fine lines around my eyes but otherwise no major issues. I have tested the Multi-Active Delivery Essence and am really satisfied! The product absorbs easily without leaving a sticky feeling, and it is completely fragrance-free, which I appreciate. Lightly Moisturizing
The 100ml bottle is nice and sleek. I'm a bit critical of the very small cap that has a tendency to fly away all over the bathroom 😅 The essence is clear and application is smooth with a cotton pad. Smells neutral and very little. The product also lasts a long time. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone, and the essence sits well over the entire face. It neither becomes shiny nor sticky. The skin feels lightly moisturized. However, it is difficult to assess whether it has had an effect on improving the absorption of other active ingredients. I don't notice any significant difference other than that, but it is very possible that it will show effects with more time. At the moment, it feels mostly like an extra step in the skincare routine. Lovely toner!
I have been testing this essence/toner for almost 4 weeks (morning and evening). I have combination skin, am slightly red (but not sensitive) and have some larger pores. [The picture on the left is from 1/4-2025 and the picture on the right is from 26/4-2025.] The toner itself is very light and watery and gives a lovely slightly cooling feeling upon application. I have applied it with my hands, you can also use cotton pads, but I feel that the product gets absorbed too much by the cotton. The packaging is a classic The Ordinary, and I really like the simplicity of the packaging, it’s fresh! 🥰 🌸 The product is supposed to absorb active ingredients better, which I feel it does. During these 4 weeks, I have tested using my usual serums with and without the toner beforehand. For example, when I use Retinol after the toner, my skin doesn’t feel as dry as it usually does. 🌸 The toner sinks in quickly and easily! 🌸 My skin feels calm, less red, and hydrated after this period, and I will continue with this essence! I have nothing negative to say about this product. It’s a perfect step in my routine that makes a difference in both feel and results.
