In my series of finding BGA (Black Girl Approved) sunscreens, I have tested the Airy-Light Invisible Sun Stick by #cosrx as #lykoinflutester. By BGA, I mean products that don’t leave a white cast so you don’t look like a ghost. I was super excited to try the product since I love Korean products. The product promises to control sebum and reduce shine. High protection SPF 50 PA++++ with an ultra-light texture that gives an even, matte, and comfortable feel all day. BIG CLAIMS (I know) but the product delivered! It was easy to use, no sticky feeling, and melted into the skin without problems. HOWEVER, as you can see in the video, the sunscreen clumped up?!! Like what?! I think the sunscreen must have reacted with my skincare. But I just massaged it in and the clumps disappeared. Because of that, it gets 4/5 ⭐️ Overall, I recommend the product! It’s easy to apply, easy to carry in your handbag, and delivers what it promises. Happy? No more creasing
Me and eye patches are not really friends. I don’t think they work and therefore aren’t worth my money 😂 But when #cosrx sends them home, you have to try. I have used 5 PDRN Collagen Vitalizing Hydrogel Eye Patch for a few weeks and I have to say I might be converted?! I have DRY AS HELL eyes that crease under concealer if they’re not moisturized. So I have to moisturize PROPERLY so I don’t look like a walking dead. The serum was so incredibly moisturizing I was shocked! Makeup sits well and doesn’t crease!! I was very impressed to say the least. Now I also have dark circles. Did they get lighter from the product? Don’t know, probably too short a time to say. I will continue using them and maybe come back with an update. #cosrx 5 PDRN Collagen Intense Vitalizing Serum promises and delivers! I have been using #cosrx 5 PDRN B5 Vital Soothing Toner for a few weeks. I am impressed ON ALL LEVELS! The toner has a light and moisturizing consistency that absorbs quickly. NO STICKY FEELING AFTERWARD. After using the toner for a few weeks, I notice my skin feels more hydrated with a nice glow. The toner worked perfectly with the rest of my skincare. It is fragrance-free but I think it “smells” good (can’t commit hahaha). The toner contains PDRN, vitamin B5, and several types of hyaluronic acid that help strengthen the skin barrier and provide long-lasting hydration, which I love! If you’re looking for a toner that deeply hydrates, soothes irritated skin, and gives a fresh glow, this one is definitely worth trying. A new favorite in my skincare routine! Black girl friendly
Tested a new product from #smuutiskin Peach Barrier Peach Sun Cushion. In my opinion, this product is "Black Girl friendly" as it does not leave a white cast on the face. The product melts into the skin, sits nicely on the skin, and works great over makeup. The skin also feels moisturized after use. The cushion format is convenient, hygienic, and perfect to carry in the handbag, which I think is a plus. The only downside, hence 4 stars, is that the product contains only 15 ml, which I find a bit pricey and will run out quickly. Glazed donut or gold coin?
Now that highlighter is in again, I have as #lykoinflutester gotten to try #urbandecay Half baked. I haven't used highlighter in YEARS so I was a bit unsure about using the product but was positively surprised. Half baked melted into the skin and gave a really nice glow. At first, I was afraid of the color (looked like a 10kr coin), but when I blended it with my makeup it looked really nice. I looked like a glazed donut which I loved. It looked extra nice in the sun and I got many compliments. One downside with this is that you have to blend FAST and one side at a time. Don't do like me and let the product sit for a while 😅 required a lot of blending Overall I am happy with the product. Girls! This product didn’t come to play! I got to try #urbandecay All Nighter Matte Finish as #lykoinflutester and I’m obsessed. The setting spray is ABSOLUTELY amazing. I LOVE when my makeup is matte especially during summer when it’s warm. As you can see in the video, I did a smudge test and MY MAKEUP DID NOT MOVE! The makeup stayed put, almost like I had glued it on 😂 I also worked out and did cardio after my session and this makeup was still on! Like what? I’ve used All Nighter before and think it’s good but Matte Finish is my new favorite. Summer essential
Now that summer is starting to approach, it’s extra important to use sunscreen, especially if you use acids/serums daily! I have, as #lykoinflutester, had the chance to test #vichy Capital Soleil UV Age Daily SPF50+ and I must say I have found a new favorite. Capital Soleil is light and melts into the skin without leaving a white cast! I have used several different sunscreens and usually get a white cast 90% of the time, so I was happy this one didn’t give me that. I have used the sunscreen in my skincare routine and haven’t experienced any issues. It also worked well with makeup! The sunscreen melted into the skin and deeply moisturized. Personally, I recommend this sunscreen because it prevents wrinkles, fights pigmentation spots, and of course protects against the sun. Pretty okay
I have used #theordinary PHA 5% Exfoliating Lip Serum as the last step in my routine; just before bedtime. The serum is a mild chemical exfoliation for lips that promises to smooth and hydrate the lips. Personally, I think my lips felt softer in the morning and hydrated. They looked a bit rosier, but that could be due to various things. On the first use, I felt that the serum didn’t really "sink in" to my lips, and I woke up with the serum still on my lips. This might be because I used too much. The second time I used less and woke up without any product left on my lips. So important to think about the amount. The product promises what it should, but I prefer "harder" exfoliation. Also, I was bothered by the dropper; there should be a better way to apply the serum. I think the serum is pretty okay, but a bit pricey for only 15 ml. When I received #theordinary the Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides cream, I didn't know what to expect, but what a surprise! The cream promises to restore and increase skin hydration, help strengthen the skin barrier, and provide moisture all day long. I have been using the cream for a few weeks as #lykoinflutester and I am VERY satisfied. The cream deeply hydrates and REALLY provides moisture all day. On the first use, I didn't put on makeup just to see how the product would perform throughout the day. The cream sat nicely and did what it promised. I have also used the product under makeup, and it has worked as well. The instructions say to use a small amount, which I OBVIOUSLY did not do, but I experienced no problems/irritation. I have normal skin and do not feel that the cream was too much. The cream suits all skin types in my opinion as it does not feel "heavy" on the skin and melts in. I am really satisfied with the product and highly recommend it. However, I must say that the cream smells very unique. If you use other creams from the ordinary, you probably know what I'm talking about.
