Over time, this tradition spread to other countries, and Singles' Day evolved from a holiday into a shopping event. In Sweden, Singles' Day has become a shopping fest, much like Black Friday and the post-Christmas sales. However, it took some time for Singles' Day to take off in Sweden. Swedish stores and online retailers only began celebrating Singles' Day in 2010, but now it’s one of the biggest shopping days of the year!
