I had the honor of testing Clinique’s lip products and I am incredibly impressed! Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey I have never tried a color like this before, so it was a completely new experience for me, and I love it! Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey has a fantastic, universally flattering shade that looks so natural and elegant. The best part is that the color is easy to build up; a swipe gives a soft tone, but you can easily apply more for a deeper pigment. The formula is also incredibly soft and pleasant, and it doesn’t dry out the lips at all, which is a big plus. It feels like a perfect blend between a balm and a lipstick, and I really understand why it’s a cult favorite. I will definitely be using this often! Not quite friends with this
I like the concept, and it gives a nice shine. The color was a bit too reddish-brown for my taste, but that's probably more about my own lips and preferences. It's easy to apply and has a simple and neat packaging. 🤍 My problem with this is that I can't get it to lay nicely, it goes on incredibly streaky on my lips and I can't "smudge" it out either. As someone who has never really liked using lip products, this was a lifesaver 😍 Lightweight, almost invisible texture, yet still feels nourishing. I was actually a bit skeptical about this since the black honey color has been so hyped… but it also made me curious. Now I carry it with me all the time! I usually feel a bit dressed up as soon as I have a color that is a bit more - oh, she has lipstick on - in color, which tends to be red and darker shades, so this one was perfect for feeling natural but a bit more fun. Super pretty despite uneven color
Spontaneously, I love this color, it’s so pretty! But it lays best if you have well-moisturized lips right from the start. Maybe you should mix it with a good clear lip balm for the best result? At first, when I used it, it laid nicely and well in every way. But as the day goes on and the lips become drier, the color lays unevenly and the result is not nearly as flawless. But regardless, I love this color. And I can actually forgive that it tends to lay unevenly if the lips aren’t properly moisturized. It’s like a really good movie. A really good movie CAN have some holes in the plot, you overlook that if the overall experience is good enough. That’s how Almost Lipstick in Black Honey color is.
