    Healthier Hair

I received 4 products from #REDKEN in their Acidic Bonding Concentrate line and tested them as a #LYKOINFLUTESTER. I tested the Pre Treatment, shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in. The packaging is absolutely beautiful to look at, the only thing is that both the pre treatment and the conditioner were a bit hard to get out, so they have to stand upside down in the shower, not the end of the world really ^^ I was initially a bit skeptical about the line since I am very sensitive to AHA in skincare, but I haven't seen or felt any of that and have been able to use it every time I wash my hair. I am the type who doesn't have the patience to wait for products to work in the hair, it needs to be quick, I've used this every other hair wash and yes, the bottle upside down otherwise it was hard to get out. I left it in wet hair for as long as I think is 5 minutes, I still need a bit for the whole hair I feel, but when rinsing out, the hair feels soft and easy to rinse out. I like the whole line as it has made my hair not look so damaged after a lot of bleaching at home, not as many split ends and when the hair dries, it is divinely soft and looks healthier. They have a nice scent and the only thing I find a bit annoying is probably the Pre Treatment since it takes a bit longer than usual and an extra step, but maybe I'll get used to it. Just pre treatment products are quite new for me ^^

    So-so...

I have fine, thin, and "weighing down" hair that generally requires little maintenance. I also have glass-like hair, where nothing sticks well, neither color, bleaching, nor product. When I had the pleasure of testing this, the expectations were high. The product is applied to TOWEL-DRIED hair. I used about 1 tablespoon for my shoulder-length hair, (as mentioned, I have thin hair, as well as few hair strands), and let it marinate for a good quarter of an hour, combed the hair well through so that the product was evenly distributed, before I washed it out with the shampoo from the same series in 2 rounds. ( lyko.com/no/redken/redken-acidic-bonding-concentrate-shampoo-300-ml?fromsearch=1261-601-0300 ) The procedure itself takes some good time, as it can feel a bit tedious to go through a 4-step system. Bonding, shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in cream. The formula feels like silicone, silky soft and pearl-frosted. The scent feels luxurious, like in a hair salon. After the procedure, my hair felt very heavy, as if I hadn't washed it for a couple of days, and products had started to build up. Immediately, I got the feeling that my hair felt greasy, and the following day it looked absolutely terrible. It was just before Tine Meieriene asked if they could come by... For me, this is a product that would have been excellent if my hair had gone through a massive bleaching at 12% over repeated visits to the salon. Even though this product was nearly slaughtered by me, it doesn't mean that the product isn't valuable for you. Plus for the product coming in handy packaging, as you can utilize all of the product. (190ml tube). The scent is sharp, but not overwhelming. Easy to distribute in damp hair. The price is in a mid-range. Must go through at least 3 steps for the product to take full advantage. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN #LYKOREVIEW

    Not a favorite

I have fine, Nordic hair that occasionally goes through a bleaching process. This treatment is probably nice to use once in a while close to such a bleaching process, but this is not a product I like enough to use regularly. I generally don't like hair treatments that are supposed to stay in for a long time in towel-dried hair, because then you have to get out of the shower and wait - I simply don't have the patience for that (but of course, that's not the product's fault). The treatment is quite heavy, which works poorly for my hair. I've tried to use it only on the lengths and avoid the scalp, but it still feels too heavy, unfortunately. The hair becomes smooth, shiny, and heavy, but it also feels like I haven't washed my hair in several days. A bit hard to explain… If I use it on the scalp, it starts to itch the same day and I feel like I need to wash my hair. Maybe I can't tolerate this, but it still didn't become a favorite for me. It smells good, but a bit chemical. A bit like being at the hairdresser maybe :) I think the product works best for those with thicker hair. #redken #lykoinflutester

    Repair deluxe treatment 😇

I have had the pleasure of testing this series of hair care products from Redken. It consists of four steps, and each product is reviewed separately. My hair is thick, long, naturally curly, and treated with color and highlights. It often gets frizzy and is hard to detangle, so I usually have my hair up for convenience. This intensive treatment strengthens and repairs damaged and treated hair. It protects hair color and prevents wear from heat tools. It promises softer and well-cared-for hair that doesn't break as easily and balances the pH level. The recommendation is to use the product together with shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment from the same series to achieve the best results. The packaging is plastic and feels both sturdy and luxurious. It is a bit difficult to get the product out of the bottle; it requires some shaking, and you have to squeeze hard, but that is probably due to the consistency, which is well formulated. It smells very fresh with citrus notes and is easy to distribute in the hair. I often need a lot of product to cover all my hair, but since this one is easy to work with and concentrated, it still goes quickly to massage in. I let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Then I apply shampoo, conditioner followed by leave-in treatment. The first time I tested the product, I noticed a big difference as my hair became both soft, curlier, and very manageable. It also gives a nice shine that makes the hair feel both fresh and hydrated. My otherwise frizzy hair became super nice! After repeated treatments, my hair has continued to be well-cared-for and has retained its softness and brought out my natural curls so that I hardly needed any other styling. This really works, and I am so happy and grateful that I got to test this series! Price-wise, it is completely OK considering the results and that it is so easy to use. You need to have a little patience, of course, as this is an extra step before regular shampooing. But it is so worth it! I can highly recommend this treatment! Make sure to buy the whole series as it is also on promotion now! #Lykoinflutester #Redken

Works well but a bit pricey

I have tested the Redken Pre-treatment along with the other products in the same series, so it's a bit difficult to judge the products completely individually. That said, I feel that this pre-treatment really helps to give the hair extra shine and a healthy finish. The result after use is hair that looks well-groomed and fresh, and it definitely helps me achieve the hair look I want. The packaging is very nice – it looks sleek and professional, and that's something I appreciate when choosing hair products. The scent is also very good and gives a feeling of luxury. The only thing I could wish for is that the hair felt even a bit softer and more “moisturized” afterwards, but all in all, this is a very good product that I would gladly recommend to others. The combination with the shampoo and conditioner works great, and I will definitely continue to use this product going forward. But I might not say that it is completely worth the price. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN

    Good for damaged hair

I have now tested this pre-treatment from Redken. I have used several products from this line before, but I have never tried this one until now. Together with the shampoo and conditioner in the same line, I think this works excellently. It provides the extra help to strengthen the hair. I have damaged, dry, and broken hair and can actually see that this helps to make the hair better. So I would really recommend it if you have the same type of hair as me. #LYKOINFLUTESTER #REDKEN

    Soft

With hair that loves sun and summer, I was excited to see what this series would do for my hair now that winter is underway. ❄️ I get dry and damaged hair throughout the fall and winter, so I need to use products with lots of moisture. But if there are too many oils, my hair gets greasy. I have now tested this series for a few weeks, and this product Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Pre-Treatment felt like it provided a lot of moisture and my hair felt thick. But I prefer leave-in products over treatments like this. However, the overall result after this treatment was good. Full hair, but there was something about the combination with the other products that weighed my hair down a bit. So it doesn't quite make it to the top for me✨ #redken #lykoinflutester

Rescue for thick, colored, and damaged hair?

I was so lucky to receive the entire Bonding Concentrate series from Redken, which consists of 4 products to test as #LYKOINFLUTESTER ❤️ I have medium-length, thick, damaged, and colored hair that struggles a lot in the winter. So I was very excited about this series from Redken. I wash my hair 1-2 times a week and have been using this series for the last 4 weeks. This Bonding Concentrate Intensive Pre-Treatment is step 1 in the series. And it should be used on damp hair BEFORE shampoo and conditioner. I have a spray bottle with water standing in the bathroom and spray my hair well with water before applying this pre-treatment. And I clip my hair up. I’ve used it for anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour while doing housework. And I think the best result came when I had the treatment in my hair for 1 hour 😇 What this pre-treatment is supposed to do is repair the hair's strength, provide intense care, and protect against bleaching and hair color. It is a pH-balancing treatment with an acidic pH to counteract the effects that hair color, heat, and water have on the hair. The smell is so-so, not the best smell of hair products I’ve tested, but not bad. The consistency is thick and creamy, and easy to apply to damp hair. I use a hairbrush to comb it in to distribute the product evenly. I only apply it to the lengths (and a little to the ends of my bangs). But I use a good amount of product to cover everything. So I wouldn’t say this is very economical if you have thick hair, unfortunately 🤷‍♀️ The packaging is very nice, I think. But I actually wish it was in a jar or tube, as it will be difficult to get the leftovers out of the bottle when it starts to get empty. The pre-treatment is easy to wash out of the hair, as I always shampoo my hair 2 times to get it really clean. And I notice that my hair is super smooth after shampooing because of the pre-treatment - something I like. Many times hair can feel very fragile and stiff after shampoo. After the rest of the steps in the series, my hair feels incredibly soft and healthy. And it’s absolutely crazy shiny! 😍 I rarely use styling products in my hair, so I’m very dependent on the products I use after washing my hair to care for it and provide a long-lasting result - since I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week. And I absolutely think this series does that. I can imagine that those with thin and fine hair might not like this series as it can weigh the hair down a bit, in terms of a lot of moisture for the hair. But for me with quite thick hair and coarse hair strands, this series is absolutely worth it in my eyes 😍 It’s hard to say if one of the products in the series is better than the others, since I’ve always used them together. But I really like the results they give - together. It’s not certain that you need all 4 steps. But in my experience, I would absolutely use all 4 together. I will continue to use these going forward. And if I’m just as satisfied with the results as I am now - when I run out - it will be a repurchase 🤩 #REDKEN

Cares but pulls my color out

I have tested the entire series and used it according to the instructions. It’s therefore hard to determine exactly which product does what, but it’s a good combination! My hair: - medium length, medium thick hair strands - Dry and tends to get frizzy 😥 - Classically naturally colored at the roots and gets bleached highlights/balayage 4-5 times a year For the past few months, I have also used some pink toning and color mask. This product is a bit tricky, as it needs to be applied to towel-dried hair and then left on for 5-10 minutes. If you (like me) are already someone who hesitates a bit with the project of washing hair, it’s not very appealing… According to the manufacturer, the pre-treatment is supposed to protect the hair color, but I feel like my toning washes out faster than usual. Additionally, my hair feels greasy a bit faster than with my regular washing routine. On the other hand, my hair feels more manageable, and even though at the beginning of the test I regretted not trimming the ends before I started, it’s good that I didn’t because it really provided a basis for hair testing! I still need to trim the ends, but they don’t feel as damaged as before. So, what’s the verdict? In combination with the other products in the series, my hair feels less damaged, but this product is a bit tricky and will probably be the first step I cut out. Additionally, I feel like my toning fades faster when I use it, which brings the rating down to a 3. #redken #lykoinflutester

    Good per wash treatment

As #lykoinflutester I got the opportunity to try the #Redken Acidic bonding series including this treatment. I have long curly hair that I wash 2 to 3 times a week and mostly blow dry or style with heat tools. So I have some damaged hair/ split ends. Packaging is nice and sleek. I like the halo on white design. This treatment is a thick formula though and it’s not the easiest to get out of a bottle. I have used it several times now, the consistency is such as a conditioner/ mask. It’s easy to rinse off and leaves hair soft. However I’m not sure how effective it is in reinforcing the damage bonds. But I will keep using it as it just requires 5 to 10 minutes and washes off easily.

    Good for damaged hair

I have tested this 4-step Acidic Bonding Concentrate series from Redken consisting of Shampoo, Conditioner, Intensive Pre Treatment, and Leave-In Treatment. I have typical Nordic quality hair, not particularly thick and relatively flat by nature. It is a bit worn from hair coloring and heat tools, but not very much. I have been testing this series for about 2 weeks now. The Intensive Pre Treatment comes in an aesthetically pleasing bottle that is easy to get product out of, and you can get most of the container out when it starts to get empty. It smells absolutely lovely, I think, fresh and nice but not overly perfumed, and the scent doesn’t linger in the hair after use, which I appreciate since it can get a bit too many different scents when using multiple products. It is relatively easy to use, you dampen and towel-dry the hair before distributing the product in the hair. Then you wait 5-10 minutes and follow up with shampoo and conditioner. So it’s not much more hassle than treating the hair after washing, but it is still a bit of work. I think it’s worth the time if you’re trying to rebuild damaged hair, and you don’t need to use it every time you wash your hair. The product is in perfect consistency, I think, not too thin that it just runs off but still not so thick that it’s hard to distribute evenly. You need little product, so a bottle lasts a long time. Unfortunately, my hair becomes very heavy and almost greasy from using these products, but it’s possible that my hair simply isn’t damaged enough to need such a heavy-duty series. I imagine this series is perfect for very bleached, damaged, and frizzy hair, as it makes the ends of my hair especially silky soft and together, but it’s a bit too much for my hair. I have tried to use less of the product, letting it sit for anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to see if it becomes less greasy, but unfortunately, it stays that way regardless. I think the price is completely fair if this is a product you need, and I would absolutely test it if you need to rebuild damaged hair. #lykoinflutester #redken

Good, but not for oily scalp

As a lykoinfluencer, I had the opportunity to test this hair mask (Intensive pre-treatment), thanks Lyko! 🤍 My hair is thin, long with an oily scalp, dry ends, and is colored (highlighted). I'm not a person who likes multiple steps in my hair routine. I usually do shampoo and conditioner, as well as the mask 1-2 times a week. I have some issues with my scalp, which is quite sensitive and starts to react/itch with many products (or after a certain period of use). The hair mask has a nice, sleek bottle, it's easy to get the product out, and the consistency is quite thick. You should apply it to towel-dried hair and let it sit for at least 5 minutes before shampooing, which I personally find quite annoying because I want to be done as quickly as possible. The hair absorbs the product quickly and becomes oily, and even if you use other steps afterward, it still feels a bit oily. It smells incredibly good though, not too much! This is a real hair mask that makes the hair soft and shiny, but I personally found it too oily and gave too much moisture/nourishment to my hair. The product itself is good but doesn't suit my oily scalp... you do get a lot for the price though. I can imagine it works for those who have bleached hair and need a lot of nourishment. After several uses, unfortunately, my hair started to itch a lot. Usually, I wash my hair every other day because it gets oily, but with this product, I felt that my hair was oily the very next day.. Otherwise, I think it's a good product, but it didn't suit my scalp very well. #redken #lykoinflutester
