Difficult to assess the effect after only 4 weeks of use..
I received this exciting hair product for testing as #LYKOINFLUTESTER. This is a strengthening serum from Kérastase that, according to the product description, is supposed to prevent hair loss due to hair breaking. The serum has ingredients that are supposed to make the hair more resilient and minimize hair loss. The serum is supposed to strengthen and care for the naturally protective barrier in the scalp. The serum should be used once daily in the morning or before bedtime. You can apply up to 4 doses to a dry or towel-dried scalp, section by section. 1 dose = 1 pipette to the mark. The serum should be lightly massaged in and not rinsed out. I was super excited to test this serum since after three pregnancies (six years since the last) I have gotten thinning around the hairline on my forehead. Here, the hair grows extremely poorly, and the little that grows gets a maximum of 6 cm long. Exciting to see if this serum could help. I also generally have hair that never gets as long as I want because it breaks and splits easily. I otherwise have medium-length, Nordic, fine hair with slightly bleached ends - otherwise untreated. I’m starting to go gray (I’m 43 years old). These are my thoughts on the product after 3.5 weeks of use: ✅ Lovely container that looks good on the bathroom shelf ✅ Good pipette that makes application easy, doesn’t drip. ✅ The product doesn’t feel sticky on the hands afterwards (even though you should of course wash it off) ✅ The hair doesn’t feel greasy at all when used (I’ve used it in the evening) 🚨 Quite okay scent (but relatively strong). Smells a bit masculine ❌ The bottle is not very economical in use and the price is quite high. I applied 4 doses each time and used up the product in 4 weeks. ❌ No visible results after four weeks. As an influencer, I had the honor of testing this product. The packaging: In glass that feels sleek and luxurious with a smart pipette. So pretty with the ombre colors too. The consistency is gel-like and wonderfully cooling. Good consistency as it doesn't run out so easily 👌. It smells so good, both orange/citrus and a bit of woody undertone yum. Very fresh scent. I feel that the scent settles after a while, which I think is good since I have worked in healthcare. Smells mild but not too strong after a few hours. The pipette has a good clear marking for how much to take and is easy to handle 👌. When I apply the serum, I feel fresh. But my hair gets greasy, and I find it stiff/chunky after it dries. I don't like that it gives me such a greasy impression, something I really work to avoid. Even the next day, I find my hair greasier and with a strange slightly stiffer feeling in my hair. Which I don't like. I've been using it for a while now and notice no significant difference in my hair at all. I assume you need to use it longer. But I'm most irritated that my hair feels so greasy after a while within 1 hour of application for me unfortunately. So I think it's a ridiculously expensive product to give me greasier hair and no difference in hair quality, but I assume you need to use it for more than 2 weeks. I'm not that impressed yet, but I get to test it a bit longer to see if it gets better going forward. But I don't like the feeling in my hair after it has been a while. Strong scent
3 stars because I think it smells very strong, so not for anyone who is sensitive to scents, drips from the dropper even though I’m not pressing it, so that’s a bit of a minus too. If you are sensitive to strong smells, skip entirely
I really wanted to love this product, however the scent is overwhelming. I am not even a person who is usually sensitive to strong smells but this product is so concentrated that, at most, two hours after the application I always feel extremely sick and with massive headaches. Headache
I get really intense headaches from this product, starting right after application and lasting until the next wash. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does it get better over time? I have mixed feelings
it's really a nice product, but I have some mixed feelings about the price-to-effect ratio. I've already used two packages and actually noticed that my hair falls out a bit less, which is a plus and where I see a real difference. However, when it comes to baby hairs, which everyone talks so much about, the effect for me is rather average. They appear, but definitely not to the extent I expected based on the reviews. A definite plus is the usage itself, the serum has beautiful packaging, a very pleasant scent, and is easy to apply. It doesn't stick to the hair, doesn't make it greasy, and gives a nice lift at the roots, making the hair look lighter and fresher. And that's a bit of a problem for me, because on one hand it's a very comfortable and pleasant product that works well daily, but on the other... I'm not sure if the actual effects are worth the price. Doesn't live up to the hype unfortunately
My second bottle is almost empty and it's hard to rate something as vague as whether you've gotten more hair or not. My experience is that my hair hasn't gotten thicker over these weeks. After washing my hair, I might notice a slight difference with a bit less hair on the brush, but it's hard to say for sure. So does this serum help with hair loss/thin hair? I'm doubtful and don't think so, at least not for me. Otherwise, I find the scent strong and masculine (I dislike it, but my husband thinks it's lovely), the formula is okay and absorbs easily, and my scalp actually feels a bit fresher (I sometimes have some itching/dryness). A big downside is that the serum is annoying to use daily. When I apply it after washing my hair and then blow-dry, everything is fine. When I massage the serum into my scalp the next day, I feel like my hair's volume completely dies and the scalp gets a bit greasy. After another day, the hair looks really dirty and dull. For someone who only washes their hair twice a week, unfortunately this serum makes the hair look worse, and then it feels secondary whether you get a bit thicker hair thanks to it. A tip if you want to give it one last chance without losing volume between washes: reduce the amount and apply it spotwise in partings directly on the scalp (preferably several thin lines rather than large amounts), apply it in the evening and let it dry before going to bed, and after the initial phase you can often switch to maintenance 2–3 times a week. In love with the Genesis serum
A product I've grown fond of using. It fits well into my hair care routine, and my hair feels even stronger. I struggled a lot with hair loss due to illness, and now my hair is much better. It has also started to grow more hair in places where there was none❣️ I'm on my 4th bottle of Genesis serum💗 I find it practical that I can use the serum on wet and towel-dried hair😍 The only downside is that the product is quite expensive if you want to use it regularly.
