Bringing out my curls
I have realized over the past year that I have curly hair (2C-3A). So I bought this and started taking care of my hair since it’s curly and not straight. In 2 weeks, the curls have come out pretty well! I know it can get better, but it takes time. This gel has really helped to bring them out! The only thing I have that is a bit of a downside is that the curls don’t hold for several days. But I also haven’t learned how to refresh my hair, so it might not be the product 🥰 - The post was made 4 days
Will this work for me?
I am a total beginner and have never used styling products before. I want to highlight my natural waves, provide hold, and above all get rid of frizz. I have some sensitivity to scents and a sensitive scalp. The hair in the picture is air-dried, unstyled, completely without product. 🖤✨ A true dream for curls!
I was really so positively surprised by Olaplex No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel! I really like styling products that can give curls definition without the hair feeling stiff, heavy, or like you have a lot of gel in it – and this one really hits the mark for me. 🥹 I usually distribute a small amount into freshly washed, very wet hair and then scrunch the curls up with my hands. It’s almost a bit therapeutic to stand and scrunch the hair and see how the curls start to form. 😂🖤 What I like the most is how soft and bouncy the curls become. They get a clearer shape while still feeling movable and natural. I want to be able to run my fingers through my hair without it feeling like a hard shell, and I really think this gel succeeds there. I also think it helps really well against frizz. When the hair is dry, I get a much smoother and more defined feeling, and it really makes a big difference when I want to wear my curls loose. ✨ The first time I used it, I got a little gel cast when the hair dried, but that’s actually exactly how it’s supposed to be. When the hair is completely dry, I usually just gently squeeze out the cast and then the soft, shiny, and movable curls come through. 😍 I also appreciate that it doesn’t feel heavy. I think the hair still gets volume and bounce, which is extra important for me. And a little product goes a long way, so I don’t need to use a big dollop every time. Another thing I like is that it’s made to resist humidity and control frizz for up to 72 hours. I can really notice the difference on days when my hair would otherwise easily start to puff up. The only thing I would say is that you need to find the right amount. If I use too much, the hair obviously gets stiffer and the cast stronger. But once I find the right amount, the result is exactly how I want it. Great for curly, frizzy hair!
I have very curly, frizzy hair and this gel gives really nice, long-lasting curls. The curls last several days when I’ve added this to my hair routine. Previously, they lasted at most one day. If the curls get a bit stiff, I "break" them up with a little hair oil. Nourishes and binds moisture for light, soft curls. Free from silicone and protein. Gives beautiful, touchable curls with a natural feel and bounce.
Use:
Apply a small amount of No.10 Bond Shaper™ to clean, wet hair. Distribute evenly in sections and scrunch upwards to enhance the curls. You can also use your favorite method to define the curls. Let the hair air dry or use a diffuser until completely dry. Once the hair is dry, gently scrunch out the excess of the now dried gel (the cast) to release the curls and achieve frizz-free, well-shaped curls.
