Yes, I know, we’re repeating ourselves, but it’s important! And yes, UV rays reach us all year round even if the sun doesn’t feel strong. UVB are the rays that burn us and are stronger during spring and summer, while UVA, which ages our skin, is always there and even penetrates through windows. How much sunscreen should you use? More than you think! I usually draw lines of product over the different parts of the face and then massage it in. And reapplying is important, especially if you’ve been sweating or swimming, but the protection still decreases gradually during the day due to things like touching, sebum, and friction. This year I’ve seen the tip to reapply over makeup using a powder puff! Otherwise, sticks are a good tip that are easy to carry, especially for oilier skin or the new mineral one without fragrance and denatured alcohol, which many with drier skin like. Which sunscreens are good? Yes, Evy Kids SPF 50 stands out among all I’ve tried (especially the blue ones 💙 which are “very water resistant”) and also have long shelf life in the packaging even after opening. But also Korean brands like Missha and Dr. Jart+ have lighter textures that sit well on the skin. And gotten lots of dark pigmentation on my upper lip and cheeks. 🌞Well, not anymore! This is how I cracked the code: 🧴OLIKA SPF for different areas. One fits all doesn't actually work all the time. If you want to slather your regular SPF on your hairline, be my guest, but your hair will definitely get greasy, 100%. Avoiding burning the part and greasy hair is possible, thanks coola for that 🙏🏼 On my face, I use thin, moisturizing SPF, often Korean, and it has worked for my skin. For the body, it's nice if my daughter and I can use the same gentle sunscreen! 💦Hypochlorous acid Works for just about everything. Neutralizes exposed skin and soothes everything from sunburn to insect bites! 👱🏽♀️Do you protect your hair as much as your skin? I do. The sun dries out and makes hair brittle. UV protection and repairing masks are not something I skimp on! Cap, updo, scarf, etc. are of course also on! 🫧And of course shampoo & mask that protect against hard water.
