What kind of routine can I create with these skincare products?

I have long suffered from various types of skin issues (dryness, acne, acne scars, redness, and large pores) and have tried many different products that haven't felt helpful. I just bought several skincare products that I hope will help, but I'm not sure in what order to use the products or what a good and effective skincare routine would be. I would also gladly accept product recommendations that could complement my routine.

Like a time travel, but the bad kind 🥹

I have had acne problems since my teenage years, where it has gone in waves. A little over two years ago, I finally went to a dermatologist and got help. I was on isotretinoin for a little over 7 months and finally got rid of it. Since I stopped the treatment, I have only gotten a few isolated pimples. I use Niactil, which I love, and it has been great. But I thought about alternating with another serum with niacinamide to stretch it a bit. I wanted to try this since it had mostly received very good reviews. I am always cautious with new products and introduce them slowly and one at a time. I know that the skin can react to new products and that there can be “purging.” But I got a lot of new and inflamed pimples, big and painful. When I stopped using it, they disappeared; it might have stopped if I had continued. But I didn’t want to risk it getting worse again now that it has finally gotten better 🥹 #lykoreview

Worth it or not worth it?

Had no visible effect on dark pigmentation spots. Caused a burning and irritating sensation upon application. Can feel uncomfortable on the skin when used. Used 2 bottles but saw no difference after 8 months. No strong smell. Not worth it ❌ Rating: 1/5 ⭐

Review: I've been using this serum for a while now, and I am very satisfied. It absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling sticky, and the skin feels softer and more hydrated already after the first few days. I've also noticed that the skin looks fresher and more even. The product is gentle on the skin and fits well into my daily skincare routine. I will definitely buy this again, and I recommend it to anyone who wants extra moisture and a healthy glow.

    Lovely product

So nice that you can get this big bottle from Lyko, I haven't found it anywhere else. My skin loves this serum. I always have big dry and red patches under my eyes. Since I've been using this, my skin feels so much more hydrated and those patches have disappeared. I'm looking forward to winter, I believe my skin will be better this winter thanks to this ❤️

    🫧 serum

Does this serum work well together with Common Clouds 'cloud milk serum'? Is it okay to use one in the morning and the other in the evening? Or should you avoid using both at the same time? Or can you use both one after the other?

Hello Wilma! 👋 Yes, niacinamide 10% + zinc 1% works excellently together with a moisturizing Cloud Milk serum. Use one in the morning and the other in the evening, or apply the thinner one first, wait 30–60 seconds, then follow with the other serum, finishing with cream and SPF during the day. Listen to your skin: if it becomes red or itchy, scale back to one product at a time and build up again. Hope this was helpful. Take care 💖

    A favorite

Yeah, but what can you say? It's a classic for a reason. Just strong enough for people who want an "easy skincare routine." This particular large bottle is made to work as a bigger one with a long dropper and a sturdy bottom. I love that it doesn't just run like water when applied, but is thick enough to stay somewhat in place until you start massaging it in! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    The Ordinary Niacinamide

I've heard that this can be used to lighten underarms, is that true? I've used The Ordinary's Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner (7%), and the skin under my arms has maybe lightened a bit, but it hasn't helped that much. (The darkness is not due to shaving but from skin rubbing together). Can this be used on underarms, or is there another product containing niacinamide? If yes, how much should be used?

Hi! 😊👋 Yes, niacinamide can be a good addition if you want to treat a darker skin tone in the underarm area, especially if the discoloration is caused by friction and irritation rather than shaving. Niacinamide is known to help even out skin tone and strengthen the skin’s protective barrier over time. Please note that results often come gradually, and it can take several weeks or even months to notice a clear difference. If you are already using glycolic acid, it’s best to introduce niacinamide slowly to avoid irritation. You could try The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, for example. Apply a few drops to clean, dry skin once a day at first. If your skin feels good, you can then increase usage to morning and evening. Have a wonderful day! 😊
