- 3 weeksIβve heard that you should rinse red shades in cold water so they last longer, but I havenβt had the chance to try it myself yet π

Try once more?
Hi! My son dyed his hair with Ebony hoping it would turn black. Instead, it turned blue-purple. We rinsed after 15 minutes, maybe we should have let it sit longer. My question is: Can we buy another jar and put it in and let it sit longer? Or will it damage his hair? Do we need to wait a certain number of days before we apply the color for the second time? If you don't recommend this, how should he go about getting black hair?1 likes1676 views- 2 monthsThank you for your reply. π Is it necessary to take the same brand, or can I use a toner?

- Customer service at Lyko2 monthsHey Granen Since this color is semi-permanent and only lays on top of the hair strand, most hair types and colors need to bleach their hair first for the color to stick in the hair To get the best results from these colors, I would recommend bleaching the hair before coloring. Feel free to use an extra color-preserving shampoo and conditioner for the best longevity All the best! β¨

Color transfers
Absolutely stunning color and I would have given it 5 stars for that, but just as quickly as the color releases with the first wash, it transfers onto pillows and clothes just as much. However, it is difficult to remove from skin, clothes, and bathtub (see pictures), therefore it unfortunately only gets an average rating. I was thinking of buying it in black but I don't dare anymore.. - 3 months6 likes2659 views

DirectionsHair ColourSemi-Permanent Conditioning Hair Colour Ebony
Vibrant, bold semi-permanent colors in a ton of different shades. Super easy to use and you can mix the colors to create your very own unique hue!
Preparation:
1. Shampoo
Wash your hair with a pH balanced shampoo; we recommend La Riche Pre Colour Shampoo. This will give your hair the right balance, ensuring that Directions hair color achieves the best results. Directions Colour Protecting Shampoo is specially formulated for colored hair, helping you get the most out of your color. It leaves your hair soft, manageable, and with an amazing shine.
Application:
2. Comb your hair
Comb the Directions hair color into your hair until the color emulsifies, meaning it starts to foam. This indicates that the color has penetrated the hair; lighter shades may require a bit more combing.
3. Processing
Let the color sit for 15 to 30 minutes. A plastic cap helps retain heat in the hair, which can lead to better results.
Results:
4. Rinsing
Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water, avoiding your face, until all excess color is washed out. If you're applying more than one color, make sure to wash and dry the hair separately. Be extra careful when coloring only parts of light hair.
Tips:
- Wear plastic gloves when applying the color.
- Apply petroleum jelly or another thick ointment along your hairline to avoid getting color on your forehead.
- As with all hair colors, it's recommended to do a patch test first.
- Don't use conditioner before coloring your hair.
Note! The colors may vary slightly from what is shown in the picture depending on hair type and original hair color.
